Happy Orthodox Easter!
Easter season is the most significant and sacred time of the Orthodox Church calendar. Orthodox Easter consists of a series of celebrations (movable feasts) commemorating the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

It is customary among Orthodox Christians to greet one another during Easter season with the Paschal greeting. The salutation begins with the phrase, "Christ is Risen!" The response is "Truly, He is Risen!"

In the Orthodox tradition, eggs are a symbol of new life. Early Christians used eggs to symbolize the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the regeneration of believers. At Easter, eggs are dyed red to represent the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross for the redemption of all men.

To all of you friends celebrating Easter this weekend, "Christ is Risen!" and peace to all!

Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. The First Council of Nicaea (325) established the date of Easter as the first Sunday after the full moon (the Paschal Full Moon) following the northern hemisphere's vernal equinox.[8] Ecclesiastically, the equinox is reckoned to be on 21 March (even though the equinox occurs, astronomically speaking, on 20 March in most years), and the "Full Moon" is not necessarily the astronomically correct date. The date of Easter therefore varies between 22 March and 25 April. Eastern Christianity bases its calculations on the Julian calendar whose 21 March corresponds, during the 21st century, to 3 April in the Gregorian calendar, in which the celebration of Easter therefore varies between 4 April and 8 May.

christos Anesti, Christ is risen, Truly He is risen. The Orthodox tradition sets by the spring full moon and is always the sunday post passover. The western catholics use only the full moon as the the timing resulting in the difference. periodically Easter does line up together.

Shove it "stosh",try "READING"!!!!

I am offering this warning as it was given to me verbatim,i cannot vouche for the validity of the warning nor the credibility of my friend's friend, but i'll say this,i'd prefer to offer this, save someone's life if true than to remain silent then something catastrophic happens and i said nothing.

To me its better to err of the side of caution, especially in light of the so-called FLY-0VER a few days ago in NYC by what appeared to be a beleagured Airforce-1.

So,i guess we'll see soon, tomorrow is Beltane anywho, maybe something is forthcoming..............

Christos Anesti!

Christos Anesti ek nekron, thanato thanaton patisas, kai tis en tis mnimasi zoin harisamenos.
Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and to those in the tombs, granting life.

Hallelujah! Alethos Anesti!
8 Come, behold the works of the LORD,
what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder;
he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Amen and Amen!

Re: Happy Orthodox Easter!
Easter is still the pagan celebration that it always was. Fertility rites and all that. Nothing changed just because Catholicism/Christianity hijacked the date.
True followers of Christ would know better than to focus remembrance of the most important event in the history of man to just one day, merely because some council saw fit.
Come away from the deception of "holidays".

He Is Risen Indeed!

It's our turn to resurrect now - Into Our New Immortal Bodies

II Corinthians 4:14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

I Corinthians 15:51-53 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed,

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible(our earthly bodies), must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
