Too much sun is bad for some people but it's also inconsistent sun exposure that prevent your level from being in the optimal range. It's catch 22. Just have to be smart about the amount of sun exposure along with vitamin D supplement during the winter. Look around... why are we relatively hairless compared to mammals? Monkey, apes, etc have a fur. Why don't we have them? Why can't we tolerate cold weather? Makes you wonder... |

I did so a bit, and it improved somewhat, but still not enough, im kind of a whitey. So he told me to take a Vit D Supplement, and guess what? Its the same one HE takes Because he is also Vitamin D deficient, and this is a 59yo Dr who is rich who goes to Solarium's etc could have anything he wanted. I also found drinking un-homogenized milk increased my D level by about 20. Why? |

I can't seem to find specific information for that. Anyway, it's a good thing you got a doctor that actually did something about vitamin D. Most don't seem to be aware of this health problem... yet. I heard about vitamin D a few years ago how it would prevent cold, flu, etc. I thought it was BS but I was tired of catching cold and it took forever to get over it so I tried it. 3 years and I'm still waiting for that sinus infection to show up that I get every year brought on by cold... It works. |

So to much calcium can cause problems with arteries. Some people take massive doses, I only take 2000 a day one in morning one in night. It seemed to lift my D levels, but I also take it with 1 x 1000mg fish oil. Why? |

Are you talking about Calcium-Vitamin D3 combination supplement? We don't even need that much calcium with right about of vitamin D. It's backward! A couple cups of milk or slices of cheese is probably all we really need. I remember somewhere that it's around 400 mg. That's it. |

I tried sun, so did my Dr, who is Lithuanian by decent in fact, a true pale whitey race. And with all his expensive gizmo's he ended up on D calciferol supplement. Nothing else worked to boost it. But he as a friend I guess told me not to take to much and wait for the levels to rise. After 3 months 2 a day levels are perfect. He says do not take more because you are a man and it can cause calcification of the arteries in combo with testosterone. And he is a scientist im sure he knows ive been seeing him for quite some time. Why? |

This will just burn you, and give you no D. I even tried it slowly, my Dr has tried it for 10 years +. Doesn't work. Eating more salmon works a bit, but its expensive stuff now the rich horde it like gold. But definitely stopping drinking homogenized milk, gave it a 20 upwards due to me only getting the natural fats from the milk. All the rest made no difference, the supplement was the only thing that got it within 1 point of normal. Why? |
