JUST IN: Anonymous denies internet blackout
I'm only posting this to show that some other group may be behind the so-called Operation Blackout internet take-down threat for tomorrow. Why? That's a curious question...

'Anonymous' says it won't shut down internet| Mar 30, 2012, 11.10PM IST

NEW DELHI: Will hackers, allegedly associated with a group called Anonymous, shut down internet on March 31? According to the group's Twitter account, from where it communicates with the world, the answer is no.

"What is this #OperationGlobalBlackout nonsense? I thought we settled this back in February? It won't happen. Stop asking us about it! >.<," the group's account (@youranonnews) tweeted on March 29.

Another account (@AnonymousIRC), added, "Dear Netizens, Internet will remain online. And to the death we will defend it. Always. Sail strong and do not get distracted by trolls." ...

It appears that these rumours may be false.

If so, we should be asking:

-Who's behind these reports?
-Who posted the video?
-Why?

And, why blame Anonymus?

damned

Re: JUST IN: Anonymous denies internet blackout
If it did occur, how would we know that Anonymous was really responsible?

This could just be psyops.

Considering that thought, why is Interpol supporting the rumour of a take-down?

It just seems very fishy to me. Supposedly, the group Anonymous has been denying these rumours since they started, yet, the rumours have continued.

Yep. Makes no sense to shut down the internet when that's the tool that Anonymous uses. If I'm a plumber, I'm not going to throw away my wrench.

Maybe they are going to deny anyone who wants to shut down the internet the ability to do so. Read the title from that perspective.

There is no group "Anonymous." Certain people have organized and claimed to be a part of "Anonymous" but it's really just a name that anyone can use to make it seem like they're a part of something bigger. It's a trick.
