I was at a hotel last night in NYC on business sitting on a balcony with awesome views in a short-sleaved shirt at 11:30 pm. It was warm and balmy.

NEVER have done that before and I've lived in the NYC area all my life.

There is something seriously wrong with the weather.

it's almost scary..

people everywhere are concerned underneath.. but are easy to ignore the signs. i don't know what is to come, i am patiently yet enthusiastically awaiting.

solar hits and weather/geological destruction?

nuclear destruction?

asteroid?

Yeah, the magnolias and the dogwoods are blooming. The trees have buds and the May flowers have bloomed in NY.

We're already acting like this is normal. People just adapt, go on like this is nothing. No questions about anything--no matter how weird. Attitude is like "Oh Well... isn't this nice?!"

NO. Its's NOT nice. It's WRONG and WEIRD.

I really don't see a lot of hope for this country waking up and getting engaged in changing the direction we're heading in if we can't even wake up to how weird this weather is.

Yep I concur. I shudder when people say "I'll take it!"...they are very near sighted. I tell them that it is more than just a little warm spell. They need to get their heads out of the sand and really look at what's going on here. It's not summer, and it's NOT good. I worry about what all this will do to the wildlife..... :(

set a record for most 80-degree days in March (7),
including an off-the-charts 5 straight 80-degree days!

Its been 9 days of consecutive record highs.

"And that makes it nine days in a row of record-breaking or record-tying weather and the eighth March day with a high of 80 or above."

Isn't it sad? I don't understand how people could be blind to this, it's completely crazy. We should all be concerned and continue to search for answers. Someone had started a thread on the polar shift, I wonder if this is what is happening but rapidly?

Re: 10 Weirdest Things About March 2012 Weather
It sbecame obvious to me last summer. In NJ, the leaves started changing (slightly, but noticeable) in July - usually doesn't begin until September. It got quite chilly in September when it's usually still beach weather. It snowed before Halloween, when it usually does not snow before December, late November at the earliest. It stayed fairly mild all "winter" and the trees started budding in January. First flowers popped up in February, when the ground is normally still frozen and the trees bare. And now we have May blooms and beach weather in March.
I'm telling you, somehow, we're off by 2 months.
And what scares me more than all of this happening is how many people are unconcerned...

In Australia, many places recorded their wettest days, and weeks, ever.

And from my lifetime of 41 years, I would have to say it was the coolest summer in that time.

Maybe 2 days of 40*C.

op, can you explain more on this "DOUBLE WOBBLE" notion?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10623903

here is part of a report i did on May 20, 2011 that talks about this-

"I want to share with you all What is going on with earth right now and what i have found through years of researching geological and solar events

i wish i could stand in front of you with a world globe and show you the double wobble we are in

this is the earth rotation from the space shuttle
[link to www.youtube.com]

Michigan has always been way up north
like so
[link to www.youtube.com]

now imagine all what I'm going to say, in your head
get a vision of earth from space moving like this
now, earth has always had a small wobble
we have never moved round perfectly
here you can see the wobble effect from a satellite
[link to www.youtube.com]

this normal small wobble we have always been in, combined with the 23 degree axis tilt of earth is what causes the weather we see on each and every continent on earth. why each is as warm as it is, why they get the rain, or lack of where they are. What causes some places to be frozen and others to be tropical
(i know a lot of you know this, I'm just putting all this into 1 big picture so its easier to picture and understand whats happening on earth right now)

life as we know it has all been based world wide on the axis degree, small wobble, and jet streams.

now what has happened is when we had the 2010 Chile earthquake caused by the alignment with comet elenin, it shifted earth axis, but thats not all. what they do not tell you is that it also sent earth into a double wobble

a lot like a top you spin on the floor super fast
its very very smooth at 1st, but now touch it with a bird feather
it will jump off its center
it will keep moving, just not as fast, and it will now wobble and wobble harder and harder as time goes on
this wobble will get harder and harder until it slows and falls on its side stopping
the top then needs re started to go fast again

Earth is the same and the 2010 Chile quake started this "top" process
now, remember the summer we all saw last year
weird weather really started up then
AFTER the chili quake
we saw a horrid summer that killed many
long and hot, very unusual for the USA
weird weather patterns everywhere
LA did not even have a summer until September when it got 110 out of no where
it went from 63 to 110 in 2 days in LA

right now we all can see this same temp fluctuations where we all live. 55 one day and 2 days later 80s
2010 saw mudslides that were so epic they killed thousands
the entire country of Pakistan flooded
epic flooding in china

Things started at the beginning of 2011 to get so bad that everyone FINALLY sat up and started to take notice.

now, remember the 1st videos i gave in here
and imagine earth wobble being thrown off like the top
get a pic of the USA from space in your head
now that you have that.... imagine it wobbling toward you and clockwise. then back up and counterclockwise
earth is doing this on around a 10 day cycle
when MI is at its lowest, we are at our warmest
when one part north America is wobbled south, the other part is wobbled north, back and forth, back and forth
This will cause one coast of the USA to see unusually hot weather, while the other coast see's colder than normal weather.
as this progresses, we will start to see the seasons changing places or possibly spring and fall vanish all togehter.

Japanese tsunami debris may be causing mild temperatures, meteorologist says
By Rob Manker, Chicago Tribune reporter
8:46 p.m. CDT, March 22, 2012

A meteorologist for AccuWeather — the forecasting company that predicted a winter so bad, "people in Chicago are going to want to move" — has a theory for the recent Midwest heat wave: Japanese tsunami debris.

AccuWeather.com made headlines last fall, you may recall, with breathlessly apocalyptic predictions for the season ahead...

Margusity was a good sport about AccuWeather's swing and miss, even offering up a retroactive long-shot theory for the warm winter and recent heat wave — the drifting debris field from last year's devastating Japanese tsunami seems to be sending warm air aloft above the Pacific Ocean, which could be contributing to warmer temperatures here, Margusity said.

"If you match up where that debris field is right now with where the warmer-than-normal water temperatures are, they match up perfectly," ...
