With all the naysayers and the people who just live their lives day to day why is it wrong to get excited on Katrina-type events?

Most everyone here agrees with this:
* People are growing more and more lazy
* People are leeching more and more off the government
* People are learning less and less from school
* The final "divide" between the classes is upon us
* People of the world need to be "shook up" from time to time to get them out of their "lull."

Agree? Yay/naye?

+1. Real doom. Doom that really happens. Not the doom predicted but never happens. Doom like katrina. Doom that really effects people.

I do a morning prayer and an evening prayer "to whoever's upstairs" that today/tomorrow we get a "major event" on earth.

it's kinda useless for some, you never know.. shut the entire world down for a couple days, a week. world wide water ballon fight? That will never work!

Obviously.. It doesn't count in some places. I rather think that way though. you could air drop instructions and a crate off in the third world countries.. They will figure it out.

Some of us here lived through Katrina.

Did you know maggots can swim?
Have you seen a waterlogged body that's been floating for days in the 90+ weather?
Did you know you can use flood water to flush your toilet?
Have you ever heard people screaming in the night, trying to get out of their attics?
Have you ever had to continuously disinfect over 50 mosquito bites for fear of infection and zero medical help?
Have you heard your neighbors fighting over food?

I would not wish these things on anyone.

I wouldn't wish the individual acts on anyone but I'd wish Katrina on some....
