Lifepods, a new means to colonize the known galactic neighborhood

Was it a dream, or is there really a new video show about small groups of people in space faring lifepods seeding life as we know it to various Earth friendly planets? A show similar to SG-1, but using some sort of conventional technology, such as very fast StarTrek or StarWars style space ships instead of the supposed StarGate technology.

In one episode, one of them was conquered by a vine growing into the mechanisms, and the power systems had to be shut down for a while. Apparently there were several or more lifepods, and all in contact with, us.
