Actually, you're quite wrong here. The political atmosphere however rather small it remains, is changing dramatically every single day. I've seen this first hand and up close.

My biggest fear is that we'll have a full on Civil war before we can finish this intellectual revolution.

I guess it depends on who's around you. I counted 9 RP bumper stickers on vehicles at my son's school today, not including mine. The only other political sticker I saw was a 2008 Obama one on an old Volvo. Many of my friends are voting for him and my family is coming around. : )

Exactly. Plus people who argue with Paul's stance on abortion forget that God gave man free will; and not so we should hand it over to a central authority.

I highly respect Paul's position, particularly being as he is obviously pro-life himself. I can only imagine that, as a practicing OB/GYN (of 30 years), he's seen some very tough cases which gives him a clearer perspective on individual rights in these matters.

His solution is elegant. By leaving it up to the states, many options would continue to exist. The key part is that we, as taxpayers, would not be forced to fund those aspects that went against our personal beliefs.

I believe another Civil War is very possible. The two major policical parties and the ideologies that accompany them are indirect conflict. Both feel passionately that their vision for America's future is the only one that will work. You only have to hang out on GLP for a while to see the animosity and sometimes hatred between liberals and conservatives. The two sides are polar opposite in the direction they think America should go and the chasm between them grows every day. As nice as bipartisanship looks on paper, it isn't going to happen. One side eventually has to win because the country can't move in both directions at once. As our living situations deteriorate, I think we'll see more and more minor clashes and from there I don't think a full-out waris too far-fetched.

They have no fucking idea if its at conception, or when theres the first movements of life, or at birth. Sometimes its ok to abort, sometimes its not. They cant make their fucking minds. But Romney wont come out with a clear opinion about abortion i guarantee you that, cause if hes for, its not Christian of him (Mormonism has nothing to do with Christianity anyway, but they like to pretend it does)and he would loose votes, and if hes against he would alienated every single individual capable of critical thinking, and thats not good when youre trying to portray yourself as a leader.

RP has his belief, doesnt hide behind them, doesnt avoid giving a straight answer to the questions. His beliefs are irrelevant, why? Cause a president is not elected to impose his beliefs on the people he serves. He does whats good for the country, not himself, not like a dictator or a tyrant.
