Spirituality is the opposite of religion, religion is a substitute for spirituality. Spirituality is a direct connection to Creator The Most high.

Anyone who inflicts pain on others will suffer themself from that pain.

MO will not legalize...lol

I'm a stoner, MMJ patient, and I'm telling you that bill will have NO CHANCE of passing in MO. lol
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2847074

Why do you say that? Do you live in MO? For the first time in history, polls show that the majority of Americans favor the legalization of marijuana. Those pro will be more motivated to get out and vote than those against so I'd say the odds are better than 50-50.
 Quoting: Girl Genius

because they have already voted on it in WA, which is much more pro pot than MO, and it failed badly. People want medical, and thats all.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2847074

You must mean California. Washington is voting on it in November as well. The CA vote was two years ago - two very important years - where many more people have woken up to the phony war on drugs. Polls show citizens in WA favor legalization. I'd say the chances for passage are better than 50-50 there as well.

Now, MO is a different story for a very critical reason. Legislators have stonewalled medical marijuana passage. It's become abundantly clear that in order to get this beneficial herb to needed sufferers, legalization will be the way to go.

It will also be a tremendous boon to the economy :)
 Quoting: Girl Genius

The obvious problem here is that with an outrageous tax burden on pot, the underground market will continue to operate for tax avoidance.

Hello?????
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10175528

Considering pot can be worth $1000/pound $100/pound sounds very reasonable. If you consume a quarter pound per year, you would only pay $25/year in tax.

A journalist in Arkansas said legalizing pot would be a $300,000,000 increase to state coffers. I hope Arkansas does legalize it, we have very good farmers.

I respectfully suggest that you issue their full pardon to all cannabis prisoners

Mr. President Obama, I am hereby respectfully requesting that your exercise your executive privilege as President of the United States and that you grant full pardons, vindication and subsequent removal of their felony convictions of all cannabis prisoners

LEGALIZE IT, DON’T CRITICIZE IT!

Wish I could be more positive about this. I just don't believe the privately owned prison systems will allow it.
Will appear they are trying until that same kind of visit the judge in Georgia got informing him of where his children went to school or what ever.

Why does everyone talk about taxing cannabis? It is impossible, why do you think bankers began to make it illegal beginning with California in 1913? It is not a plant it is a tree! This tree will directly enable every human being on the planet because it will grow in every state and every country. Criminalization of cannabis is because it would single handedly bring down the fiat currency systems it will bring about a form of socialism under god. This is the beginning of a golden age not the end, the laws created against cannabis were created not because of smoking or being high. It is because it will replace fossil fuels and destroying forest... Imagine a place where everyone can have hemp parchment and write their story.. Taxing? It is so much bigger than that.

Great thread GG!

What about the FEDS!!!

Even though we have it for medical purposes in Calif., we get the FEDS down our backs!

Ron Paul would take care of that annoying issue for sure!

ps... I don't use it, but there are those that need it medically. My mom (she passed on) smoked it and grew it.

I don't know how the SOS agreed to put this on the ballot (pending sigs). I am still amazed. MO has some of the harshest MJ laws in the country (as 11.11 posted above) and has made zero progress toward MMJ in spite of lots of work on that effort. Lots of towns here do have a prison economy. I am very interested to see what happens. I agree it stands a better chance of passing in some of the other states slated to vote in November. If at least a couple pass, the others will eventually fall. We must just keep pushing forward and never give up the fight.

Something has changed where as all of the medical clinic/dispensaries are being raided and shut down in San Diego. Local news said that it's the Federal DA that has pushed this. Makes no differences about what the States says or the state law, they are all being shut down as far as I am able to recognize. Anyone got any more info about this on what is going on in the State of CA?

The scale of the owner's malevolence is staggering. Every arrest is actually a business transaction, fueling a criminal industry that treats the public as inventory. Preaching to the choir here, I know, but my god, how much longer will we stand for this. The rage is building among the prols and there's only one outcome to that type of energy.

I don't smoke Cannabis, but it should be a god given right to do so...Its a plant...Nothing has to be done to modify the results of its effect...All you have to do is grow it. Unlike other drugs and alchohol,it has to be Manufactured.
Mother Earth gave this to us as a Gift...Let those that want to enjoy the benifits of this Gift,do so freely.
Commercial Cannabis is an amazing product by the way.

Exactly. That's why, no matter how much the odds are stacked against us, we must push forward. With this, with Ron Paul, with countless other injustices. The more we are thwarted, the angrier we will get until the tipping point is reached. God help us all when we get there but get there we must. This downward spiral must not continue.

How can we continue to ignore a crop with the unequaled ability to change an economy for the better. Large hemp farms, processing plants and fabric and oil production. Mom and Pop gardens, new shops, tourism. The indirect tax revenue would far exceed the direct taxes on hemp. Legalization has the potential to benefit everyone. The argument against it is very weak in comparison.

All the current political movements outside the current one party system should agree. Hemps effect would be a positive for all of them.

The Occupy Movement, Tea Party, Ron Paul supporters, Civil Rights Groups, Environmental, Labor and Tax reformers. Come together over the marijuana issue in 2012.

Mr. Paul should come out favor of it. Use it as one of the major platforms for a third party run.

Get the people talking and thinking and may be we can still save this sick nation.

True - being able to grow and process hemp will free up the economy in many ways - can't have that. That's why they will do everything in their power to stop it. Why it's so important to keep pressing forward.
