Cop Who Awaits Trial for 10 Sexual Assualts While on Duty Arrested for Beating Son w/ Trophy

A former Metro Police officer waived his preliminary hearing Monday morning, allowing prosecutors to take allegations that he beat his son with a trophy to a grand jury.

Jeffrey Poole appeared only briefly in court Monday where the charge of aggravated child abuse was to be read against him. Poole was arrested in November on the beating allegation after his son ran to a neighbor’s home and called police.

Poole also awaits trial on 10 counts of sexual assault while on duty, including rape, sexual battery and sexual misconduct stemming from 2010 allegations.
