Throughout my life, I have owned oh-so-many wonderful kittehs, so I am sure I contracted the parasite. No symptoms, but that doesn't mean much of anything with this one. Quoting: KonspiracyKitty Currently I have a few kittehs. Three indoor kitties and then there are three outdoor kitties that belong to neighbors, but that I feed. I gladly serve them all and ask for nothing more than to further oblige them with a pet, brush, or ear rub. I just cannot stand to see a hungry kitty, I must feed them. Or a dusty kitty from rolling around outside in the pollen. I must brush them! Or a kitteh with an itchy ear. I must scritch them! One of the outdoor cats I take care of has one bad eye that is clearly blind. She also had a broken tooth, and after speaking to the owners I discovered she was LONG overdo for her kitty shots and they weren't planning on taking her to the vet ever again. They just didn't, and don't, give a damn. So needless to say, I had to fix kitteh. I had to go without a lot of things that month to free up the hundreds of dollars that were spent examining her eye and making sure it wasn't infected or causing her pain or further damage, fixing her tooth, and making sure everything was healthy and nice and her shots were up to date. I will take care of any and all kitties that need it even to my personal detriment. Must. Serve. KITTEH. you sound like a mirror image of myself.... i feed almost 40 cats a day at a few different locations and i make a difference in their lives. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living. ~ Life is about choices, you get to make them each and every day of your life. ~ Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.~ Only in America... do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poloi' in Greek meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.~ “When a government is dependent for money upon the bankers, they and not the government leaders control the nation. The "book lice" eat the black letters, and other critters who also live between the pages survive by hunting the book lice. Wow!! Thanks. I will never forget this. Ever. |

Anonymous Coward 01/20/2012 08:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So... We are slaves to cats. And the parasite, is also slave to the cat... because it depends on the cat for reproduction. What can we deduce from this, considering the info linked in the OP? 1. The toxoplasma gondii parasite attaches to tissue in the brain... therefore it is linking itself to the brain of the host, and to the mind of the host. 2. The toxoplasma gondii parasite's goal is to be consumed by the cat. Is toxoplasma gondii the tool of the felid species to 'spy' on (observe, communicate with) the human race? I'm sure you've heard about psychic experiences involving cats. I have experienced this, I'm sure plenty of you have, especially the ones with an affinity toward cats. Is the psychic link caused and/or strengthened by the toxoplasma gondii parasite? From the posts on this thread, it would appear that cats have no trouble bending humans to their will... to be fed and cared for. It's effective to the point of obsession on the part of the human (there is nothing wrong with any of this, we must all have passion). But think about it. Perhaps the function of the parasite is merely a mechanism to ensure the survival and perpetuation of the felid species. The question is... Are other species different? Do all species have some kind of mechanism like this? For some reason... I'm thinking most of them don't (at least in the literal parasitical form). At least not such a widespread one. |

Quoting: Mister Obvious Where am I going with this? Toxoplasmosis. Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic disease caused by the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii. The parasite infects most genera of warm-blooded animals, including humans, but the primary host is the felid (cat) family. Up to one third of the world's human population is estimated to carry a Toxoplasma infection. It is believed by some that cats were protection for the Egyptians from Nile Crocks. Also, the Jaguar holds a high place in Aztec beliefs. Maybe Cats were brought here to protect people from Reptilians races? Think about it, the Aztecs liked the Jaguar and have many reptilian beliefs as well, as do the Egyptians with Crocks. Maybe the parasite was a weapon used by the Reptilians to control people after cats were used against the Reptilians? Hmmm.... BTW, there are some really cool videos of tigers killing HUGE crocks in the wild, also of normal domestic cats running off big alligators in the southern states on the WEB. |

Quoting: [link to www.thebody.com] I've also been taking a lot of vitamin B supplements for the past several months. The creature itself is encased like a cyst. It is in the feces of cats. It can get under the fingernail, penetrating the blood vessels. If a woman is pregnant, it knows to travel through the bloodstream to the fetus. Once in the fetus it lodges in the brain, However it is not limited to pregnant women. Everyone can get this parasite. So don't play with cat poop! Think about how many litter boxes are full right now. How many sand boxes in playgrounds have cat poop in them? Hook Worms = dog poop Toxoplasma Gondii = cat poop |

He is a beautiful cat with very healthy coat and has been extra well cared for. I put two ads in paper but so far no one has claimed him. He's here to infect me, isn't he? Or maybe he already has.
