You are already controlled by "them". Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1470741 I am a Christian. Christian does not equal doormat or pushover "I Have Sworn upon the Altar of God... Anonymous Coward 01/20/2012 06:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ever wondered why we have to pay taxes for dogs, but no for cats (in Germany ) and why cats are allowed to enter every property and you can't do anything against it, but dogs arent't? Why there is no legal action possible against cat owners who let their cats do and kill whatever they want, even protected species? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9204325 I guess some lawmakers have a toxoplasmosis infection!!! I'm seriously, I was fighting against the feelings of guilt and anxiety while writing this thread. No, but it only reproduces in felines... thus they perpetuate it. The feral or domesticated feline is this organism's preferred host, since it can only reproduce in cats. Quoting: [link to www.wisegeek.com] And it goes back to my question... Which one is the slave? The cat or the parasite? We're slaves to the cats, there's not even any debate over that... You said yourself you can't stop adopting them... which I think is great, BTW, all animals deserve a loving home. |

Normally he'll just go on the floor right outside of it, but if we're away for even 24 hours, he'll go on our area rugs. I don't know how many times we've had to steam vac the place. He's one shit pile away from the SPCA, but I'm regularly picking up cat shit with toilet paper and flushing it away. I've had a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes under my jaw and in my neck for a month now. When my illness first started, right after Christmas, I swore it was the flu. Body aches, headaches, horrible sore throat... when I was reading online about my symptoms, TOXOPLASMOSIS jumped out at me. Your suggestion is an interesting one, because my husband wants the cat gone yesterday, and I keep trying to save his life by trying to cure him. You're saying this parasite is making me want to keep him. ??? Woah! Stranger things have happened. Don't get a cat! I am biased at the moment of course, but they're a PITA. |

Quoting: Gratia Plena Thanks for your advice. Yep, if you've been having to deal with his feces that much, then chances are you've got toxoplasmosis. As we've seen, after onset, it's really a non issue... and even during the symptoms, if you don't know about this, then you just think you're going thru a long stint of simply feeling shitty... not really sick, but definitely not well. You'll be fine... Get plenty of vitamin C and sunshine. And yes, you are definitely being mind controlled by the toxo, but aren't most of us? Godspeed! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9039262 Hmm... Not necessarily, no. As in the OP, the last quote... it's basically the parasite's mission for you (the host) to die, and then be eaten by the cat. So... The cat might be better off in these situations, but not necessarily the human... ;) |

User ID: 9203807 Portugal 01/20/2012 07:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "Transmission may occur through: Ingestion of raw or partly cooked meat, especially pork, lamb, or venison containing Toxoplasma cysts. Infection prevalence in countries where undercooked meat is traditionally eaten has been related to this transmission method. Tissue cysts may also be ingested during hand-to-mouth contact after handling undercooked meat, or from using knives, utensils, or cutting boards contaminated by raw meat.[16] Ingestion of contaminated cat feces. This can occur through hand-to-mouth contact following gardening, cleaning a cat's litter box, contact with children's sandpits, or touching a leach, and can survive in the environment for over a year.[17] Cats excrete the pathogen in their feces for a number of weeks after contracting the disease, generally by eating an infected rodent. Even then, cat faeces are not generally contagious for the first day or two after excretion, after which the cyst 'ripens' and becomes potentially pathogenic.[18]" [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

And yeah, the first time I heard of this thing with the cat parasite, I did for sure think of the Ancient Egyptians and their cat-worshipping practices. I definitely know people who worship cats although they wouldn't put it that way, and I may be one of them. |

Did the Egyptians (worshipped cats) know something we clearly haven't fully caught onto yet? Is anyone else freaked out and slightly disturbed right now? Thoughts? I think it's because the cat is the only animal that never surrendered to man. Some people feel it, hence the admiration. Btw I can't see any blame in cats in any of this. The cat who can use keyboard. |

Ive had cats my entire life..and honestly..the only thing they do is ask you to feed them on demand, scoop their poop out of their lil sand boxes..make fresh water in their bowls..and have unlimited access to your bed.. I really dont think thats too much to ask ( looks around nervously)...do you? Also..if they throw up a hair ball...you must never display disgust! |

You can get that through other animals!!! I will have many cats I want, many dogs I want, if I'm going to think on what might kill me, I will live in FEAR,I will not live my life to its full, and that I DON'T WANT. Have cats for years and I'm toxo free. And even if I had it, I wouldn't give a fuck about it. I'm happy,it's all that matters :-D |

User ID: 9205252 United States 01/20/2012 08:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | after reading all three pages of this thread i find this to be good info if you own cats. i used to hate cats and then had a little girlfriend who had a pet setting service and there were a few strays around the neighborhood and i ended up with jimmy, one cat, for 17 years and when jimmy died i lost my mind. now i have six and if you only knew what my day consists of, sometimes i think i need to see a fucking shrink. maybe because i never married and obviously never had any kids, none that i know of at least. LOL and by the way i have never experienced any of these problems of which you speak of OP. hope that it continues this way. Toxoplasmosis was one of the things they tested me for. Tests came back negative. Turns out it was caused by one of the new fancy antibiotics I had taken. Quoting: ScrumpTheTexan EXACTLY. You get it man. It makes them fearless SO THAT THEY WILL BE EATEN AND THE PARASITE WILL BE CONSUMED AGAIN BY THE CAT (so it can reproduce)!!! This is verified FACT. So what the fuck?!?! What is the purpose behind all this? In my opinion, there's got to be a reason. Folks, we have blown this whole cat thing WIDE THE FUCK OPEN. :wordcat: Zombie parasites are freaky... There's a wasp that inserts it's larvae into spiders... the spiders then stop building webs & build a cocoon for the *future* adult wasp... which will kill the spider after.
