They do have a sickness, it's physical, and it comes from cats and each other. What we need in the world, is a vaccine for this organism, and liberalism will die out. Liberalism = American Democrats (mostly left) Socialism (in general) Communists (but not Anarchists, those guys aren't sick) |

You get it man. It makes them fearless SO THAT THEY WILL BE EATEN AND THE PARASITE WILL BE CONSUMED AGAIN BY THE CAT (so it can reproduce)!!! This is verified FACT. So what the fuck?!?! What is the purpose behind all this? In my opinion, there's got to be a reason. Folks, we have blown this whole cat thing WIDE THE FUCK OPEN. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1711362 Canada 01/20/2012 05:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There are species of lice that only live on the human body. There's even two of them, because the lice that wants to live on your head are a different species from the ones that want to live between your legs. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 300884 This just tells us NATURE ABHORS VACUUM, as they used to say. Every viable niche is soon occupied by some lifeform. Even the really stupid niches. The niche of "exploiting the fact humans find cats cute, and will easily get one if nudged just a little bit" couldn't stay unoccupied for long; some parasitic critter just had to claim it as its own. My personal favorite example of nature filling silly niches is the tiny eco-system that exists in old books. The "book lice" eat the black letters, and other critters who also live between the pages survive by hunting the book lice. Holy crap! I love books. Not anymore I guess. |

Symptoms can reoccur throughout the life of the host and have physical and psychological effects. And who knows what the fuck else." You forgot to mention that 99.9% of people will never have any other symptoms during their lifetime, after initial infection. This rarely causes any problems in humans beyond mild flu-like symptoms, and the biggest source of infection in many countries is not cats, but handling of raw meat. Stop trying to create panic. |

So for small mammals it´s easier to be prey for Cats. But i also heard Humans that are affected take more risks aswell, in thinks like driveing etc. they usally drive faster and more agressive. |

I guess you're not infected with toxoplasmosis, or it might actually click with you. I'm gonna start a club. You're not invited! Can I join your club? I was diagnosed 20 years ago. Just like you wrote, a mandibular lymph node swelled, I had symptoms like mono. After a 10 day anti-biotic regimen I've been asymptomatic (or so I thought) ever since. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1470741 United States 01/20/2012 06:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You can identify toxoplasmosis victims by their rabid liberalism. You say that's crazy? Then why do most rabid liberals insist on housing complexes for cats, yet allow homeless people on the street? Cats are nasty creatures that shit in your house and yet you love them. If your child shit in a box in your house you would scold them. Why? The toxoplasmosis is controlling you. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 9204325 Germany 01/20/2012 06:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A pertient question: What the fuck is REALLY up with cats?? Did the Egyptians (worshipped cats) know something we clearly haven't fully caught onto yet? Is anyone else freaked out and slightly disturbed right now? Thoughts? Interesting thread, OP. 5 stars and PIN suggestion for bringing this up again. Sounds like the toxoplasmode parasite is mind controlling and might have been used in this sense in ancient Egypt. Like they use fluoride in the water supply now to keep the masses under control. The Governments must know the effects of toxoplasmose gondii and they serve their aims. Ever wondered why we have to pay taxes for dogs, but no for cats (in Germany ) and why cats are allowed to enter every property and you can't do anything against it, but dogs arent't? Why there is no legal action possible against cat owners who let their cats do and kill whatever they want, even protected species? |

User ID: 9203807 Portugal 01/20/2012 06:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good for the parasite because I will not stop adopting cats! I LOVE CATS. Just adopt one more kittie 2 weeks ago hehehehe And it's not only the cats transmiting the disease!!!! "Transmission may occur through: Ingestion of raw or partly cooked meat, especially pork, lamb, or venison containing Toxoplasma cysts. Infection prevalence in countries where undercooked meat is traditionally eaten has been related to this transmission method. Tissue cysts may also be ingested during hand-to-mouth contact after handling undercooked meat, or from using knives, utensils, or cutting boards contaminated by raw meat.[16] Ingestion of contaminated cat feces. This can occur through hand-to-mouth contact following gardening, cleaning a cat's litter box, contact with children's sandpits, or touching a leach, and can survive in the environment for over a year.[17] Cats excrete the pathogen in their feces for a number of weeks after contracting the disease, generally by eating an infected rodent. Even then, cat faeces are not generally contagious for the first day or two after excretion, after which the cyst 'ripens' and becomes potentially pathogenic.[18]" [link to en.wikipedia.org] |
