Thank you for the reply! so what your basically saying that when people are screaming others are going to hell for "not" believing etc..is the not the matter of if hell is pyhsical or spiritual its going to be painful when you rejected the relationship with god (or the concept of God) all together?

Some good stuff coming up so far. I'm gonna try and say all this slow for you hardline bible-humpers, because it's pretty vital stuff:

The fire that God uses is not literal fire.

He says several places in the old testament that the concept of burning people is an *abomination* (Deuteronomy 14, Jeremiah 7, 19 & 32).

Likewise, here are some things which He uses the symbol of "fire" to describe:

"Our God is a consuming fire" - Hebrews 12 (an echo of Deuteronomy 4:24)

"Is not My word like fire?" - Jeremiah 23

He makes "His ministers a flame of fire" - Hebrews 1 (also Psalm 104)

fiery trials = sharing in the sufferings of Christ - 1 Peter 4

Israel's captivity in Egypt = "an iron furnace" - Deuteronomy 4:20


Note that per Revelation 14, those cast into this "lake" are "in the presence of the Lamb". He Himself is likely the fire that purifies.

The only thing that it burns up is the old, corrupt nature and its debris. . .

The process of "fire" leaves us in ashes. . .a scriptural symbol of humility.

Ok so some questions came into my mind while reading a thread about atheist are fools and etc. Now i'm not technically an atheist but the question is still lingering and in need of an answer!

And here was my question that i am digging for an answer for: "If Majority of us will be going to hell for all enternity and burned with fire, and burned with cigarettes, And ass raped by demons etc..etc.. I just can't make sense of this..If we die we leave behind our physical bodies therefore we are spiritual- correct? Then how would i be burned with fire in the spiritual world? Isn't a fire's "burning pain" a physical emotion? So how would i feel -physical- fire burning my spiritual body?" (quoting myself from the thread)

Does anyone know how this will be possible?

Come on OP...you're an Atheist and we know it.

No such state exists. Psalm 139 says God is even in "hell" (sheol), and Revelation 14 says those in the lake of fire will be in the presence of the Lamb.

Hey watch it chops! to me its doing no good to label. Whats a label anyway..why do i need to fit in anywhere? I believe in a "higher power" i live my life with morals and love for all people and life in general. I have read the bible -all forms of them (lol)- and have read lots of mythological stories. I have done so much research on this I can't tell up from down anymore on this stuff. But who needs to anyway? Its not anyone can prove god to be real or not! So why not just be good people!

Why would you assume that is your fate?

Do you feel fearful? Miserable? Despair?

I would suggest that if you do not feel these things that you are not guilty of anything that would land you there.

The thing about extreme religion nuts that cracks me up, is they quote a book written by a man as proof that their god exists and that they're right about said topic.

So, in my opinion you could quote something out of a harry potter book, and I'd give you just as much credit..
