SOPA - The Final Sitting of 2011
Here's a link to the House of Representatives discussing the future of the Internet in full. There's a lot to take in but it is the full story so you might want to listen to it in the background while doing something else. I'm just posting it because it actually took me a while to find it because it was buried under a ton of bullshit U-tube commentators editing two minute snippets here and there. If you're really interested in what they're up to, get the information from the source.

- [link to www.youtube.com]

I don't know who the U-tube guy is, it's just the first one I found who had the information. No affilliation.

The first 1:30.00 is the reading of the actual document. The speakers fire after that and it then becomes much more interesting. It then continues in part two.

I'm trying to keep my attention clear enough to figure that out. Unfortunately, I don't do well with hearing people reading documents. My attention won't stay focused when someone is reading because their speech becomes almost hypnotic. I'd rather read it myself.

Dear disaffected Democrats: Welcome to the Libertarian Party, we think you will find our social tolerance delightful. However in exchange for this, you're going to have to find a way to be ok with people keeping their guns and more of their money.

Dear disaffected Republicans: Welcome to the Libertarian Party, we think you will find our small government economic policies to your liking. However in exchange you will have to find a way to be ok with "the gays" getting married.

Lemme guess, PDF file? Those large ones can be hell, I hear ya. The way Adobe Reader has it set up, it seems like the entire file has to be loaded into buffer before it'll present ... even though it still behaves as though it has to load each page when you scroll down to it.

I'd rage at 'em, but Adobe has created a plethora of tools that I use for my career.

Re: SOPA - The Final Sitting of 2011
I saw most of it live on the night. I just had a browse at the recording and indeed the broadcast was recorded in entirety without editing so the first ten minutes need to be skipped as it is just waiting for the beginning. In fact, they actually spend the first hour and a half having the the actual document out by a speed reader lady. What most people will be interested in starts at 1:30.00 thereabouts so skip to there and continue through to part 2 and 3 and so on to whatever it goes to.

So pick it up at one hour thirty minutes if you're having trouble.

Someone posted here that the same corporation that now support this bill with millions, are also the ones who spend millions into the p2p networks and software.
It is like a big entrapment thing.

Ms Lofgren is the only one supporting the public, she says they are cramming this thru and not letting the public know about it. Then they ridicule her. Least she has the guts to stand up for the little man.

Re: SOPA - The Final Sitting of 2011
There is so much here and it will take time to review. What worries me is all the loopholes and smallprint they worked into this bill. The concept is ok, but I find the whole approach wrong. Like someone said, they are already policing illegal activity. They don't need control of the internet to do what they are already doing. The internet could be the greatest liberty ever created. Maybe it undermines their agenda to such an extent that they forsee a need to control the Internet. At the moment it is mostly harmless, but in the future a planet that can't be controlled by government spin could be entirely different.

So I only got to watch a minute of it before it disappeared. Does anyone know where these videos go when they are replaced by ads?

P.S. She's got some skill with that mouth!

P.P.S. It's nice to see them actually read a bill they are about to vote on for a change!!
