This site, World News, wn.com, has breaking stories laid out in a clean format that loads fast, here's the home page:

Here's a link to their search engine page that brings up news results, the first results it shows are videos, then there are tabs for news stories and images:

I haven't given it an in depth exploration but it looks really interesting and useful.

Another search engine someone posted here for local news video feeds from around the world was vimeo.com

Have used that one a few times to find news from South America, etc.

Wondered if someone else might like to see this.

It's really easy to type "wn.com" to get there and seems to load very quickly, unlike so many news sites with awful ads.

It seems to be a news site with no pop-ups, hallelujah. Yes I have a blocker, but still.
