For many years people have figured out how to avoid getting in someone else's way. If the hikers heard gun shots, they didn't walk there. If the shooters saw hikers, they didn't shoot there. It worked out quite well for a few decades that I know of. But now the militant tree huggers can't walk on the same mountain where some one is shooting. Where I shoot, there is a valley with many little side gullies that are perfect to keep bullets from getting away. I have never shot in the general direction of another person, but I have had tree huggers yell at me from across the valley. That's a mile as the crow flies, and I was shooting in the opposite direction. They were so far away they probably couldn't tell I flipped them the bird.

Cops are there to draw the chalk out line and make the report. If I am attacked, I will take a gun over a phone call to the cop shop every time.

What happened in Germany started in the thirties, and the Weimar Republic found out the hard way that a big spending socialist government wont protect you when the neighbor moves in. They had there guns taken away and Germany just marched in and declared they were now Germans. Then the Nazis took the guns from the German people. The rest is history.

Our founding fathers were actually much more specific than that. The right to keep and bear arms was to protect us from a grovenment grown too powerful. They never anticipated that we would be able to go over 200 years without another revolution. Maybe the long time between revolutions is why we are finding it so hard to stop our out of control government. We have grown complacent and forgotten what those inalienable rights were protected for. They are to keep us free. We have seen many of our rights taken away in the last 100 years, especially in the last 11 years. It is time to tell them we have given all we are going to. It's time to recover some of the rights we have lost. The outrage yesterday did some good, now we need to keep the pressure on.

God and the Constitution affirm my right to shoot my gun. The Constitution says I have that right and nobody can take that right away. The Supreme court says that is true on all government owned property. For those of you too fucking stupid to understand what that means, here is a little lesson on public property. That would include Washington DC, although they have been allowed to restrict guns. All national parks and BLM controlled properties. That would include national forests. Most of the people in the western United States practice and hunt on BLM land, including national forests. That has not presented a problem in the past, and it is not creating problems now. This move was just a step toward taking our guns away so they can control us more easily. If they are "skittish" maybe they should check out the injury and death figures for shooters versus other sports. Shooting is one of the safest sports in the world. More people are injured and killed playing the "stick and ball" sports than shooting. If safety is the reason for trying to limit our access to guns and shooting areas, maybe they should also ban baseball, football, basketball and soccer. If the urbanites want to be safe their best bet is stay off the roads and don't come out to the real world. driving is the most dangerous thing you can do. So, staying in the city would only make sense.
