Incredible Spice Mix for Ranch Dressing OR Ranch Veggie Dip
For the holidays coming up, beloved GLPers,,here is a dry spice mix for making either ranch dressing or ranch dip. It takes some doing and you need a blender, but it lasts a long time. I make it double because everyone loves this stuff so much. Amaze your family and friends ! (And, all the ingredients are healthy / natural.
RANCH SALAD DRESSING or VEGGIE DIP DRY SPICE MIX
* note: measure all ingredients carefully,not “rounded” teaspoons etc.
* 7 ½ saltine crackers (salted saltenes, not ritz etc)
* 1/2 cup dry parsley flakes
* 1/3 cup dry onion flakes
* 1 Tablespoon dry dill weed
* 1/8 cup onion salt
* 1/8 cup garlic salt
* 1/8 cup onion powder
* 1/8 cup garlic powder
* 2 Tablespoons dried basil
* 2 Tablespoons celery seed
* 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
* 1 teaspoon dried oregano
* 1 teaspoon dried tarragon
Put all these ingredients in a blender, and blend to a fine powder. Store in frig in a jar.
TO MAKE THE SALAD DRESSING
Put 1 slightly rounded Tablespoon of the spice mix in 1 cup of Hellman's mayo and 1 cup of buttermilk. Mix thoroughly, let rest to blend flavors.
TO MAKE THE VEGGIE DIP
Put 1 slightly rounded Tablespoon of the spice mix in 1 cup of Hellman's mayo, and 1 cup of SOUR CREAM. Mix thoroughly, let rest to blend flavors.

My stepmother made this recipe and kept it at home all the time. We never ran out.. This was before it came in a bottle. What they sell now doesn't even come close to the homemade. MMMM!

i'm happy that you're happy with it but I must say it sounds appalling.

what decent chef anywhere ever used anything called 'onion salt'? what the hell is 'onion salt'?

lemon juice, olive oil, black pepper, fresh parmesan, fresh basil - add that to lettuce and you have a good salad that isnt full of dried dust and mayo. jeez!

Re: Incredible Spice Mix for Ranch Dressing OR Ranch Veggie Dip
I just made corn beef & Swiss sandwiches with mustard dressing

Put butter & garlic on bottom of bread
place on cookie sheet open face.
Place corn beef on one side, Swiss on the other

Cook until bottom is crispy

Separately
Mix sour cream, mustard, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce.

Spread on top of bread Swiss cheese side, close and eat it with some good Split pea soup with croutons...YUMMIE!!

lol,,,Being from France I can see your point. Folks in the U.S. do like their ranch dressing. This one tops all the nasty bottled ones, full of all kinds of chemicals.
