Donīt Celebrate Halloween - a Celebration of Occult with Satanic Origin - says catholic church
VALLETTA, Malta (di-ve news) -- The Diocesan Commission on Occult and Satanism has expressed its opinion on Halloween. Various parents and youth centres had asked if Halloween was compatible or not with people of Christian faith.

The Commission, while recognising the fact that many people celebrate this feast in a neutral way, and see it as an opportunity for having some fun pointed out that Halloween is a feast of pagan origin.

Halloween is also linked with many superstitions and traditions that are more connected with the spiritual and occult world which contrast with the Christian ways. For this reason, the Commission believes that whoever wishes to take seriously his Christian faith should not celebrate Halloween.

Even though the celebrations may be superficial, and without any ulterior motives, celebrations could lead to the introduction of a neo-pagan and occult culture which is very common these days.

The Commission said that on 1st November, it would be more appropriate if Christians celebrate the feast of all saints, which Pope Benedict XVI together with all the youths gathered in Cologne called "the true revolutionaries of our societies." The following day, we commemorate our dead and pray for them.

How many christian holy days exist? One or two pagan days will not hurt. God save diversity.

"is a feast of pagan origin."

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So what. Really. So what.

In modern America, itīs simply a day to have fun. Why must people make a big schpiel.

Remember last year the Wiccans succeeded in cancelling all school Halloween celebrations in Puyallup, WA because they thought dressing up as witches was offensive?

What is it with people??!!

If you donīt think you should celebrate a holiday, your solution is very simple. Donīt celebrate. Stop ruining all the fun and joy in life for other people.

Being October and all...I thought Iīd throw my 2 sense in.

Hallowīen is a pagan celebration. (this does not necessarily mean Wiccan).

Occult means hidden or unknown...and has nothing to do with so-called Satanism...which is basically saying the opposite of whatever Chriustianity says.

In other words...you donīt have Satanism UNLESS you have Christianity.

Pagans respect and care for our Home...our Planet...our UniverSe. As do the native and aboriginal peoples around the globe.

Halloweīen is the New Year...after the harvest and the outside work is completed.
It is an acknowledgement of a time when the Veil between the Worlds is at its thinnest; when the connection between the invisible and the visible worlds is at itīs strongest and closest.
Thatīs where the idea of ghosts and scary things originated.

People are AFRAID of the unknown, the hidden, the occult! Of death altogether!

Stop being afraid!!!

.. so too is the wedding ring a pagan symbol... and also, any and all greeneries brought into the house during the time of the winter solstice, lol.

Methinks/feels pagan is neither ībadī or īgoodī, pagan is simply pagan.

are we talking about the same Catholic Church that frowns on marriage with in the Priesthood and turn a blind eye to their sexual misconduct

One must open ones eyes to the reality of the Church and its history
