In a meta-analysis, the trivalent inactivated vaccine (TIV) -- the most widely prescribed type of vaccine in the U.S. -- had a pooled efficacy of 59% in people 18 through 64, according to Michael Osterholm, PhD, of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and colleagues.
Another link to a video: [ link to abcnews.go.com] ---------------------------- Personally, I think it's ridiculous that communities like this one are scoffed at and painted like loons when we question vaccines, only to be proven that our skepticism is right. Even the medical community has no idea. "Here! Get your shot! It won't protect you!" Sure, it helps some, and 59% efficacy is better than 0%, but personally, I'll still take my Vit D3 every day. There's even an article on a site that shall not be linked to (REU -cough- TERS) that says a Japanese study showed Vit D effective at fighting not only the flu, but asthma symptoms. |
