This is something that has confused scientist because there should be literally much more fossils out there then there are right now. There is a whole bunch missing that should be there if in fact life is 1 billion years old. They dig things up and measure dates by assuming things were constant then come up with stuff that is millions of years old yet the amount of that stuff, that should be there is missing. The amount says that life is only about 6000-10,ooo old yet the carbon dating that relies on constant carbon decay is way off from that. Population growth is not linear and explodes at a certain point but I read somewhere if u take the population we have now and use a mathematical formula to go backwards then u get a starting point of around 4,800-4,500 years ago. Coincidence or not that is about the time of the world flood that left only a few people alive that is written about in many cultures. Anyways interesting stuff.
