Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1557257 Keep an eye on traders sites , eBay etc Craigslist ... you'd be surprised what turns up. Also sometimes the thief is stupid enough to list items as a lot. Also you said jewellery was taken. If you can identify it, it will be easier to spot. Karma! good advice, and you can put searcch limits for certain items, say a piece of jewelry being listed by a seller within 100 miles of your house. Such a feeling of violation. What state do you live in? Tennessee. I lived in my other house for 20 years and never had a break-in. Next door to you. Blessings Angel. Sorry about your loss. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1556531 United States 09/19/2011 09:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm so sorry dear. We moved to a new home two years ago and it happened to us not long after we moved in. It wasn't even the house, it was the barn but I felt so violated. Before then, I walked alone on the property all the time and never felt any fear and after that for months I looked over my shoulder. We took some very positive steps including cameras that we can watch on the internet, enhanced locks, new guns, fences etc... It did help and I do feel safe again so I'm sure you can and will too. It's such a horrible thing. One thing I learned that I hope everyone will consider is keep a list of your items with serial numbers. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1529623 United States 09/19/2011 09:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The thieves will sell the jewelry at a pawn shop, jeweler or even on Ebay. Call around, or better yet, drop in on these shops and give them a written description of your jewelry and ask them to call you and police if they see the items. It is worth a try. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1011949 Canada 09/19/2011 09:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes, insurance will cover it but I can't replace the sentimental items ...things my husband has given me for years that are now gone. I can't get back the feeling of being safe in my own home either. I lost a home in a tornado two years ago. Quoting: GLP Angel My pets were alive and well thank goodness. I'm a first time home buyer and I actually plan to install cameras that I can remotely monitor from a galaxy tablet while at work and record to hard drives so if something happens the cops will have a recording :) With the economy getting as bad as it is, it is worth while even if its one camera just hooked up to show the house and if anyone comes around it. |

You are a human full of sin. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1551462 I am "GLP Angel" (Godlike Productions Angel) not a real angel. If I were a real angel, I would make a miracle occur in your heart so you would "get it". But alas, I am a "human full of sin"...just like you. But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love. |

I don't believe it is possible to steal all that within 10 minutes without having prior knowledge about the location of some of those items in your home. It could be anyone from a repairmen to a babysitter. If you or your children have friends with drug problems, they could easily rob you for money. Keep an eye on craigslist for the next couple of months. Things get listed there by stupid criminals and you can inform police if any of your possessions turn up on that site. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1525811 United States 09/19/2011 10:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They took guns, jewelry boxes with jewelry I have had for years and years, our laptop computers ( I am using my work computer right now) ---they broke the back door and we have an alarm system; they were able to take a lot in 10 minutes as that is how long the police took to get here. Quoting: GLP Angel Heartsick, violated and very sad... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1554795 United States 09/19/2011 10:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Repairmen are always suspect of casing the place. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1552766 Strangers that you kid's friends bring around can be thieves too. Stole some jewelry that was in my bathroom. They may have ties to theft rings in larger cities, whereas they get a cut when snitching on who has a safe, or nice things in the house, how well it is guarded etc. Lots of times they will have deals cut with the local government for snitching if they see pot or guns or something they can bust you for. There was one guy I read about, he did gun restoration and had chemicals he got snitched out by someone who came in the house and ended up being raided by swat. All kinds of stupid shit like that. I do not want ANY repairmen in my house. We might have a cable installer come in for internet, but I make sure I know where the hookups are and I direct him to that, and I keep everything out of sight and make sure he stays in the room he's supposed to install in. Even I hate it and don't want him in my house. It's sad that it's come to that. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1198503 United Kingdom 09/19/2011 10:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well that's sad to hear, but that should buy them a nice meth binge. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1198503 And give all your hard earned stuff to illegal drug dealers. When of course if it was legal it would cost 20 cents and you'd still have your stuff, and not feel violated. But don't bother telling this to the corrupt politicians who have shares in prisons and private security. That's a pipe dream. There are plenty of things that are legal, none of them cost 20 cents. If drugs were legal, those who produce drugs would continue to want a good price for them, and all the dealers would sooner fall into a natural price fixing collusion before falling into an intense competition to lower prices. Think of the excess we have in all other areas and you will see, prices don't go down, down, down, they remain the same, artificially priced. Hrrrrm, reality is a pipe dream? Logical reality as a pipe dream? Sad sad fellow. If drugs were legal, they would be worthless to criminals. And this is a fucking fact. |

If they could legally make meth and buy the right chemicals and equipment to do it in a safe legal manner themselves instead of buying it. It would be 20 cents a hit. They wouldn't have needed to rob this person. Just like people make their own BEER and WHISKEY. The same if weed was legal, every second person would have 5 plants in their yard, no one would even want to bother stealing them. Your corporate shilling and lies are so easily spotted. |

Or perhaps it's the people who think simply "praying" will get shit done? My original comment was to point out to people (and some actually got it) that your imaginary friends don't help you at all when real life steps in. Hmmm... don't strain your brian on that one, moran. |

After two burglaries, 86 & 91 I bought two safes (big & small) and put anything valuable to me in them, now go ahead and carry everything else off. period. Bustards rot in hell.
