Someone broke into our house this afternoon

Yes, insurance will cover it but I can't replace the sentimental items ...things my husband has given me for years that are now gone. I can't get back the feeling of being safe in my own home either. I lost a home in a tornado two years ago.



My pets were alive and well thank goodness.

It was someone you know, or at the very least someone who was in your house at some point..

I'm really sorry your home got broken into.

That has to be a sinking (and somewhat vulnerable) feeling which is never pleasant.

But, like you said, at least your furry children are okay.

That's ALOT to be thankful for.

BTW, start checking the pawn shops in town.

You could get some/most of that jewelty back.

just two weeks ago my daughters sister-in- law went shopping durning the day with her 2 year old son. when she arrived home the asshole was still in the house. he broke a basement window and headed right up to the masterbedroom. she saw him trying to take the safe out of the bedroom[it was bolted to the floor]. young black male ..

Sorry about your loss. But the good thing is your little freinds are ok everything else can be replaced.

Next time go for the quad arrangement - House alarm and dead bolts, security screen over windows and doors, a big dog, and a safe for all your guns and valuables...

I realise my timing can be considered poor, but really, when it comes to waking up to reality, now is the best time to think about things like that. Or, just flake out and fall back on "the lord works in mysterious ways" and continue to grab your ankles.

I'll just say I'm glad you weren't home when those thugs decided to break in. Things could have been a lot worse, remember that.

I think I'll go buy some mini GPS devices now, and hide them inside all my valuables...

someone knew where your valuables were extemely too fast, it's someone your family knows, they knew when you would be gone and for how long and what kind of alarm system, that's why I don't let friends or distant relatives in our home it is our one place away from the world of bulshit

YES!!!! the vast majority of thefts are NOT random, but from someone that has been in the house or hangs out with family and has been to the house, or knows you via a family member or mutual friend...
