Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda apologized Sunday after one of his ministers was forced to quit for describing the no-go zone around the disaster-hit Fukushima nuclear power plant as a “town of death.”

After touring the nuclear plant and its vicinity with Noda on Thursday, Hachiro said: “Unfortunately, there was not a soul in sight in the streets of the surrounding towns and villages. It literally resembled a town of death.”

unfortunately for this minister, he was speaking the truth.

for this he was ousted. because speaking the truth is not tolerated in japan at this moment. well, politcally at least.

the people of japan are raising their voices and have been heard around the world.

kicking sand over the issue will not cover it up. throwing boran on the issue will not solve it. imho, they should start moving everyone who wants to go to other countries or anywhere that is not contaminated.

not cali or oregon or washington though. add lower canada to the no-go list also. you know why.

Could be a translation thing... I saw his comment referred to as ghost town elsewhere. Not much better. He also pretended to wipe the sleeve of his hazard suit on a journakist and said "look out, radiation, hehe!". Niw he has resigned.
