POTOMAC RIVER POLLUTED W/ RAW SEWAGE DUE TO FLOODING - MORE RAIN TODAY

Heavy rains have resulted in the D.C. sewer system overflowing into local waterways including the Potomac. D.C. Water engineers estimate about 250 million gallons of sewer overflow including raw sewage have been released into local waterways this week.

Flooding in this area is terrible. Many areas had to be evacuated, schools are closed, several sinkholes have appeared, a lot of road closures, a 12 year old boy drowned yesterday afternoon.



When I picked up my daughter at the bus stop yesterday, the small creek that runs through our neighborhood was already overflowing onto the road.
