Is Fidel Castro Dead?

If he isn't, his revolution is.

And as soon as he is confirmed as dead, may the forces of nature, physical, economic and otherwise, make changes in that country to help their people rise to a level higher than subsistence.

Cuba is just another socialism experiment gone bad.

have you been there? I have no, but I have watched some interesting stuff, including the marvelous film about how they came together to solve major problems after the fall of the soviet union, which left them high and dry. They enjoy some of the best medicine this world has to offer and many travel there for it. Maybe the standard of living is not as high as the US of A, but the standard of living here is so high it is sucking the planet.

Cuba is poor, but free.



It hasn't been pillaged by the Imperialistic forces, and the Empire is now dying.


On the other hand, Irene killed some cities a la New Orleans. After 6 years, to the day, New Orleans is still deeply troubled. The East Coast will follow the same fate.

Become free of your bad karma for stating the truth.

No one is douting that they had to make changes to survive after the fall of the USSR. And they should be commended, no doubt.

But the fact remains that exponentially more people try to get off that island than are trying to get onto it. That says something about the condition of ALL the people, not just the ones who get to be in a marvelous film about their wonderful health care.

The US isn't perfect but it appears that no one is risking life and liberty to get to Cuba - except Chavez! lol

I can only hope he's gone...and for you socialism lovers....how about ya pack up your bags and move there since you think so highly of it. Know enough Cubans that have escaped from that hell hole that know better.

They maybe had the best medicine practices and also school for everyone in the island BUT it was when the USSR was subsidising Cuba. After the Soviet Regime felt and the soviet money stop flowing to Cuba, the island collapsed.

The fact is people are suffering because of Castro´s regime. Have been there once and lived in Florida where I met a lot of cubans who escape the horror of Castro´s dictatorship.

If Castro in dead, I bet there will be a massive celebration in "La Pequeña Havana"

There is risk in every adventure. Originally capitalism was intended to be run by people with morals. What has happened is that greed took over and it is killing the machine that has given the world a better standard of living than anything else available.

You can't say with any degree of honesty that socialism has provided the bare necessities of life for those who live under its system.

Greed is biting the hand that feeds everyone.

Castro has been dead since the Cold War ended. The old Castro had the Soviets supporting him...who supports the new Castro now. Castro cannot survive without a strong communist power backing him, all of eastern europe has fallen plus the Soviets. You live with the empire, you die with the empire, plain and simple.
