Felt on the MD PA border close to Hanover, entire house shook.

Shallow quake, so it's more likely to be felt at greater distances from the epicenter

I'd expect that a shallow quake, while felt stronger nearby, would spread a shorter distance. I'm not a geologist though so I would like to know what an expert says about that.

Holy SHIT it was strong. The whole house was shaking like mad. I'm in Silver Spring, MD which is about 10 miles outside DC.

Wasn't the same one from Virginia felt all the way to Montreal?

Wasn't there a quake in the Colorado/New Mexico area within about the past 24 hours also?

Im 2 hours north of toronto, didn't feel anything here though.

i felt this in north carolina

actually it is just the opposite. the deeper the quake, the more ground it has to move to be felt. a shallow quake is travelling through less rock and thus can travel farther faster thn if it was buried under more rock.
