Not to derail the thread...but may i ask why you believe Obama will be the last President? I'm not saying I disagree with you I just want to know why you believe that?

We do indeed live in dark times and all that seemed implausible just a few short years ago now seems quite real...

I hate to tell you guys this, but Obama will win the reelection easily, especially if Bachmad is his opponent.

As for those who wants a Ron Paul presidency - think carefully. He will end up as a lame duck president. Neither the GOP or the Dem legislators will allow him to do anything, and he will merely be a ceremonial figurehead. And after his term, the poli-media will systematically reinvent history and blame everything that is wrong in the country on him. A hundred years from now, schoolchildren will look back at the Paul presidency as a cautionary tale.

I simply do not understand the logic of trying to send him alone to the capitol, knowing full well what awaits him there. A real supporter would've worked hard on laying the grounds for him first, by ushering in Libertarian-RINOs or Libertarians legislators into Congress. But instead, they are too busy criticizing everyone else (including the very impressive Johnson) and acting condescendingly towards anyone who disagrees with them.

I am voting for Obama again, for the simple reason that he is the best among the worst.

I know the economy was never his fault. 17 trillion was wiped off from the private wealth of the citizenry as a result of the sub-prime crisis. Anyone who thinks this would not affect the economy is either stupid or lying. I do not blame him for the budget deficit, because I know the country's revenue has decreased by over 30% for the past nine years, following tax-cuts that made in 2001. I know our effective tax rate (including the more lucrative capital tax) for the top earners are the lowest among developed countries, and the lowest it has been in over three decades.

I don't blame him for the ratings downgrade, because like anyone with an ounce of commonsense and honesty, we know this way caused by the GOP playing hardball over the debt ceiling amendments, which incidentally, is for payments incurred in the previous budget they themselves co-approved. There is also the matter of the debt ceiling having been revised over a 100 times since the 60's, without any fanfare and the below the belt political gamesmanship being displayed recently.

I could go on, but you get the idea.

I would hope this post would elicit some thoughtful and intelligent response, but I won't be surprised if I will only get flamed and called names.
