Questions about the Bible.
Leviticus 26:29 - And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

Deuteronomy 28:53 - And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters.

I have a few questions:

Since I do not have children of my own, am I allowed to eat my nieces and nephews instead?

Am I allowed to hunt down and roast the children in my neighborhood?

What do you serve it with, potatoes or stuffing?

Omg, you're so ignorant that you think God condoned this?

READ IT BEFORE YOU SPOUT OFF.

They did this because they turned their backs on god. The city was beseiged, there was no food and consequently they sunk into this level of depravity.

This is one of the many proofs the Bible is True. The people were warned this would happen if they didn't repent and turn to God. It happened exactly as foretold.

Why is it that everyone else can pull a verse out of the bible, out of context to make their silly arguments, and when I do it suddenly its all 'Oh no, you can't do that!'?

OP, this is just a curse of famine. It says that if you disobey God, you will go hungry and be forced to resort to cannibalism.

Re: Questions about the Bible.
check out this op

God threatens to send wild beasts among his chosen people that will steal their children from them and eat them. He then tells them that if they still don't obey him, he will cause them to eat their own children. - Leviticus 26:22,29
Apparently, God likes to threaten his people with the horrible idea of eating their own children because he mentions it again. - Deuteronomy 28:53
And again... - Jeremiah 19:9
One of the prophets dares to ask God, "Think about who you're doing this to. Are you going to make women eat their babies and children much longer?" - Lamentations 2:20, 4:10
One woman goes to see the king because she had made a deal with another woman that had been broken. She tells the king, "This woman said to me, bring your son so we may eat him today and we will eat my son tomorrow. So we boiled my son, and ate him and I said to her the next day, bring your son
so we can eat him and she hid her son from me." When the king tried to get the prophet to make the horror stop, the prophet said, "Behold this evil is of the Lord." We are in total agreement. - 2 Kings 6:28-29, 33God didn't reserve the eating of children to just his chosen people. He promised that he would feed those who oppressed the Israelites with their own children and he would make them drunk on their own blood. - Isaiah 49:26
Even God understands how annoying the tauntings of children can be. When God's prophet is taunted and called "baldhead" by some children, God sends two bears down to kill 42 of the disrespectful little brats. - 2 Kings 2:23-24
To punish King David for having adultery, God kills the baby that was created as a result of the illicit liaison. - 2 Samuel 12: 1,19
We have already pointed out numerous examples where children were killed by God or in God's name. When God threatens his chosen people he makes sure they know that the people who will take their little children and slam them against the stones will be happy. - Psalms 137:9
God continues this graphic imagery, telling them that "Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes...and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children." Of course, the fact that the Israelites had practiced this same brotherly love and mercy earlier, on the same people that will do these things to them, isn't mentioned.- Isaiah 13:16 Hosea 13:16
When God finally gives up hope on Israel he curses them that they won't have children and if they do, he says that he will, "slay even the beloved fruit of their womb." - Hosea 9:16
Even though the Bible says that children won't be punished for the sins their fathers committed (yeah, right!), the children of Lucifer will be slaughtered for the iniquity of their fathers so that they won't rise up and get control of the earth

Awww! God didn't subdivide scripture into verses, man did. So if you're reading the tail end of a passage you're going to get just a piece of the story.

You know it is funny how quick we forget, people have done these very things in disgusting desperation, how lucky for you to only be able to make fun and joke of a sad sad time.

When you say "I have a question about the Bible", it is 66 books, (depends could be more could be less...only 4 books are the core..120 pages..) spread over thousands of years, is it possible Dr. House that you could be more specific in the title of your thread?

BTW the core books from the New Testament are titled; Matthew, Mark, Luke and John....read these 120 pages...they will save your life...if you so chose!

Find the books FREE here... [link to www.e-sword.net] use the FREE included commentaries for a second and third opinion. Use the "Good News Bible" to find the 4 books, the Good News Bible is in everyday English.

Those verses have been taken out of context. Those verses tell of the debased society that will spring up all around them if the covenant is kept.

The Bible is a spiritual book,parables that contain deeper spiritual meanings.

The natural man cannot understand the treasures of the Bible,they are spiritually dead.

Only can one have desernment from spiritual things if God by his grace choose to save an individual and open his/her spiritual eyes. I encourage you to humble yourself before God and plead for his mercy instead of seeking Biblical answers from the walking dead on this forum.

Probably an allegory for Karma.

Allegory;
a representation of an abstract or spiritual meaning through concrete or material forms; figurative treatment of one subject under the guise of another.

Karma;

Not saying you should be 'blasting away' unbelievers.. Just saying you shouldnt be supporting people that take a single verse out of context to 'prove' a point, when the whole context tells a completely different story..

Anyway God does say to spread the Gospel(good news), so why wouldnt you try to convince unbelievers? You see the problem is we are in the last days, people don't want to believe, the bible prophesied these types of scoffers.

2 Peter 3:3-4;
3; Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.
4; They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

We are meant to spread the Gospel, as for convincing people that depends whether we reply to defend the Bible in threads like this (whom try to crush peoples faith & spread lies) or if were posting in threads that dont want to hear it at all. I recommend defending the Bible, but not shoving it down anyones throat trying to convince them when a thread isnt even related.

As for me, I'm not going to force or convince anyone. Were not the ones who save, Jesus saves. That's why you hear many miraculous testimonies as I'm sure you have one, & so do I. Thats why us Christians stay faithful to the Lord because know we have been saved, but thats a whole different topic.

Thanks, I work directly for the Lord (he takes hard luck cases) and am told I am the least in the Kingdom, they don't get any lower, ouch, bruised my ego....good!

So my job is simple, steer folks to the Gospel, Christ's teaching is sublime.....FREE.... [link to www.e-sword.net] use the FREE included commentaries for a 2nd and 3rd opinion. Read the 4 books titled..Mathew, Mark, Luke and John, only about 120 pages out of over 1200, about 10% of the total. It is easy to start with "The Good News Bible" and progress from there to the older versions if you so desire. The Good News is like reading the Daily News Paper, easy.

Thanks for letting me do my job..a tree has many branches

PS - for those asking...the 4 books are contained in the 1 book.
