This will be the biggest FALSE FLAG YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE AND IT WILL HAVE COME FROM YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT . Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1449304Could you possibly elaborate please, UK? BTW, here in the PNW it's been so cold and rainy that my poor tomatoes are still barely over 1 foot high, no flowers yet (which is ok since I've noticed very few bees, and they are the type with no stingers). Not that I would like to see the high, hot temps (and the weather guys are saying ninety by next Tuesday) but it WOULD be nice to see a LITTLE sunshine. Our "state birds", the banana slugs, are having a field day with my poor little garden. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1449304Hey, UK, why all the hatin'? What have we, as a people, done to you personally? While I agree with you that our leaders ARE a bunch of ass-holes and deserve any and all bad things with no pity, they do not represent US! We look at them (especially OBAMA) with the same mixture of horror and disgust that the rest of the World must be feeling! That would be like blaming the whole UK for Brown! |

Not just heat but also humidity. It's 107 but feels like 120. Quite true - humidity can make all the difference. My parents used to talk about Annapolis, Maryland in the summertime - apparently you'd be drenched in perspiration just going from your front door to your parked car. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1446876 United States 06/30/2011 05:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Kansas here - we are in the excessive heat warning - it is 106 degrees right now. Luckily we have many tree's shading the house - I am trying to keep my electric use down. I am cooking dinner in the crockpot so I will not need to turn on the oven or the stove. I am not doing any laundry today. All of the blinds have remained closed and I am running a ceiling fan and a floor fan so I can run the a/c less. Last night I ran the ac to cool it down at night - this morning the inside temp was a nice 68 degrees - the ac has came on only twice today and it is still a comfortable 72 degrees - I will continue this way until bed time and then bump it down so it can cool down over night again. Stay safe everyone - especially those of you that have to be outside! |

I have also had the lights off all day and tried to limit my opening of outside doors. I think the trees and keeping the blinds all closed has helped tremendously as well as running the fans - plus all of our windows are on the north and the south side except for the front window which is on the West side - so we will heat up inside a little more now that the late day sun will be shining on that window. Good luck to you and hopefully the foil will help and your ac can get a bit of a break. |

The week of July 4th - 8th is looking to be insane. Quoting: JFavYes..totally agree with you..we DO get hot days..but not continually, this whole month has been record breaking. Yes..thats why they are issuing warnings, deadly weather. People will be celebrating and not thinking about the heat..alcohol and high heat dont mix. Dehydration... Like I said..I hope people are checking on neighbors..I know I check on an elderly woman up the road..she's a recluse and I worry about her..thankfully she has lots of oak trees around her house. Yeah, alcohol isn't a great idea. If you've got humidity, I guess the best thing would be to get in a swimming pool or take occasional showers. If it were dry like Arizona, the advice would be to keep drinking (non alcoholic stuff) even before you're thirsty. . DON'T VAX, PROPHYLAX! ____________ There is no anger in Me: If one offers Me thorns and thistles, I will march to battle against him, And set all of them on fire. But if he holds fast to My refuge, He makes Me his friend; He makes Me his friend. (Isaiah 27:4-5) |

SO, yes, you are right. Whenever I drink beer, I always drink a bottled water before and after..the key is to hydrate, at least IMO :) I snuck a bunch of booze into work today using my stomach I can't stand it when people won't speak a little louder when I'm trying to eavesdrop on them. Quoting: Sul-americano 1063827Many cities are going to break daily (or monthly) records today!! Some have already broken it and it's only 3pm!!!! [link to www.weather.gov] It is not a normal summer. I always work outside in oklahoma in the summer, winter, etc. I never remember it being this hot. Heat never bothers me that bad. I can weld in long sleeves when it is 100 outside. This year is different. Normally at night you get some relief, but has not been that way. I was cutting the grass the other day at 8:45 at night and was soaked from sweat. It was so hot, It actually bothered me. All our grass is dead or dying. One of our trees is loosing leaves and dying. Our garden is dying, despite watering everyday. Watermelon normal growing season is summer. Ours died and yes it was planted in sandy soil. My dad has lived here all his life. I asked him and he said the only time he remembers it this bad was I think 1980. He said then all the tanks on the ranch dried up and all the grass died. They were feeding hay. So maybe one of those 1 time in thirty year things or something is up for sure. |
