As an area of upper-level high pressure builds into the Central part of the country today, look for records to be broken as heat rises. With high levels of humidity also in store, the air will feel almost unbearable. Temperatures should be well over 100 degrees in parts of Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas today. I am not a Skywarn spotter, since I haven't taken the class yet. I do it as a hobby and I have been quite successful. I wanted to learn everything about storm structure and forecasting for severe weather before I ever went out and actually did it. This was one hell of a storm season, even though I stay local MO/IL I almost had my first tornado. Twisterdata.com is the best source for finding your cape, CIN, shear levels, etc. I use GRLevel3 for mobile radar on the laptop.
