Or it simply wont work. That's the point ... I would still have to go through Paypal, and they would most likely make me "prove" that the debit card in question was actually mine. Then I would have to go through the whole rigamarole again. When I first signed up (several years ago), and didn't have to go through this ***. I cancelled my automatic renewal when things were a bit "strange" around here a few months back. Now trying to get signed up again is taxing my patience.
