The only thing I am pointing out is about the Bible (and other main religous books/writings, not ~just~ the Bible) being quite militant in their writings from "back then" versus how we interpret it to be "peaceful" and "loving" today. Even the New Testament offers many examples of expressed, specific violence, but yes, I agree with you that most christians do not currently take it literally. We do not behead people or commonly speak amongst ourselves about "killing the infidels" or committing terrorist acts against anyone else who disagrees with us.

I have learned much from it and I have won many battles with the WORD of the Lord. Notable miracles are hard to dispute.
