Anonymous Coward User ID: 54035253 United States 02/12/2014 10:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | delivery drivers are the one occupation that i will tip fat. unlike bartenders and waitresses, their job costs them money. it is an investment for them. bartenders fill a cup with liquid and if youre lucky have great charisma to make your experience better. waitresses don't really do that much in most places. especially places that have hired dishwashers. the cooks work harder than the damn waitresses but most places tips don't get split with them. so 10% of bill - that's fine. percentages don't really apply to delivery drivers. rather distance. pizza drivers, besides spending money at auto repair more often than most, are also putting themselves at risk on the road - delivering in heavy rain/snow storms/late at night with drunk drivers/etc... and they get paid minimum wage for all that. |

These days I live in an area where you can get just about anything delivered. I tip a minimum of $5 or 20% of the bill if not better. Its nice to be able to have food delivered, and Im very appreciative. The delivery people are trying to earn a living too. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 50287855 Australia 02/12/2014 10:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The minimum wage here in Australia fro delivery drivers isn't that bad. I usually round it up to the nearest $5 though. We have had some really lovely people deliver to us from pizza to Chinese food. One older guy actually gave my 17 year old daughter a little lecture one night when she was home alone and had left the front door wide open. It was very sweet that he was concerned about her safety. Here tipping is not a big deal as workers are already paid a decent hourly rate. Tips are just a special thank you when service is very good. Most delivery drivers I have tipped have been very surprised and grateful. Some even ask, 'are you sure? I've got change for you.' |

I live about a half mile from our favorite pizza joint. I usually tip $3 or $4 bucks for a delivery. Usually any food I buy from a restaurant or delivery joint I look over. If I ever find any of that in my food, someone will have a second smiley face and will be pissing out their asshole. It will not be a good day for them, consequences be damned. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 33435073 United States 02/28/2014 10:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i always tip around $10 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1361857 but i used to be a delivery driver... 5 is always a good enough tip.. below 3 will just piss the driver off, but at least he wont spit in your food or take your pizza out of the bag and let it cool down so it sticks to the box or whatever else he may feel like doing when hes alone in his car with your food the next time you order(trust me, they WILL REMEMBER)... lol. you people who live in fantasy worlds where you believe all people you treat like garbage in a service industry who "shouldnt" do things actually "dont" do them.. lofl.. enjoy your food... the rest of us are gladly paying a few more dollars for the convenience of receiving decent food at our home in reality. its just a simple rule, if you cant afford to tip, you cant afford delivery.. the only reason you still get it is because the owner of the business wants your money more than they care about making the drivers happy... there really is no excuse for not tipping. the delivery charge goes to buy boxes and napkins and drink cups and those free cheese and peppers and marinara sauce ranch dressing you guys love so much.. also to the owner so he can afford to keep the business running... if you have a problem with that, blame the owner, not the drivers or the staff... dont be stupid. a lot of smaller places(ie non-chains) dont even pay their drivers by the hour.. so if you dont tip youre actually stealing money from the driver by not compensating him for the gas he used to get to you. you can come up with any reason you want to for being a douchebag who doesnt tip.. but youre still a douchebag. If you do anything to my pizza I will go insane. Get it to me in under 45 mins please. And you will be rewarded. But if I even suspect you messed with it, there will be hell to pay. |

Quoting: moot $5.00? $7.00? How much tip for the drivers with a $20.00 pizza? $4.00 that is a 20% tip. They work hard and deserve to be acknowledged and thanked. If you do not tip the delivery man he is making ZERO. The delivery fee you paid which is next to nothing, goes to his gas. If you do not tip I hope karma bites you in the ass u cheap prick. Anonymous Coward User ID: 68731748 Canada 03/27/2015 10:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Never more than $5. usually depends on how long it takes for delivery, if I wait an hour you probably arent getting any tip. I also agree with the poster above, if you are delivering pizza in a BMW then you arent getting any sympathy tip from me Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1353166 It's not the drivers fault for the long wait. It would be the stores, maybe they were busy with orders. Unless if the driver said, "hey I got lost.. I wasted 20 minutes driving around letting your pizza get cold". Then I could see you tipping less. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 68731748 Canada 03/27/2015 10:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | $3.00 would be the very minimum tip. Say the order is 20.33$ I'd give 25$ and say to the delivery guy, "here's 25$ .. have a great night!" If the order is 40$ tip 4-5$. If it's a 100$ order maybe tip 7$. If you're a none tipper.. you should be ashamed of yourself. I live in Canada, I deliver pizzas. The custumer pays $3.50 delivery fee and that goes to the driver. That pays for the gas (not to mention) maintenance for the car you"re beating up. Any tips is what I earn. I always show appreciation the the custumer and give great service. I carry milkbones with me, always have change. And I bring Cold pop. If you"re a regular known bad tipper. You will receive your order last, and maybe you will receive less toppings. Tipping goes a long way, If you don't tip you should shake your head and smarten up. |
