Anonymous Coward User ID: 1361857 United States 04/30/2011 05:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i always tip around $10 but i used to be a delivery driver... 5 is always a good enough tip.. below 3 will just piss the driver off, but at least he wont spit in your food or take your pizza out of the bag and let it cool down so it sticks to the box or whatever else he may feel like doing when hes alone in his car with your food the next time you order(trust me, they WILL REMEMBER)... lol. you people who live in fantasy worlds where you believe all people you treat like garbage in a service industry who "shouldnt" do things actually "dont" do them.. lofl.. enjoy your food... the rest of us are gladly paying a few more dollars for the convenience of receiving decent food at our home in reality. its just a simple rule, if you cant afford to tip, you cant afford delivery.. the only reason you still get it is because the owner of the business wants your money more than they care about making the drivers happy... there really is no excuse for not tipping. the delivery charge goes to buy boxes and napkins and drink cups and those free cheese and peppers and marinara sauce ranch dressing you guys love so much.. also to the owner so he can afford to keep the business running... if you have a problem with that, blame the owner, not the drivers or the staff... dont be stupid. a lot of smaller places(ie non-chains) dont even pay their drivers by the hour.. so if you dont tip youre actually stealing money from the driver by not compensating him for the gas he used to get to you. you can come up with any reason you want to for being a douchebag who doesnt tip.. but youre still a douchebag. |

I dont think so...firstly this is Stralya and we pay our workers their full wage....secondly if I order any thing from anywhere they are going to give it to me before they are going to find out that I dont tip...so what you're saying is that food would come with spit etc.. before you even purchase it. Or is it that in Ameritard if you dont give a tip they take back your pizza and disappear around the corner for a bit and then give you your pizza with extra toppings on it You may have got a clean pizza a couple times, but after that you'll be remembered. All the drivers talk especially about those who stiff them repeatedly. Not so much about the good tippers though. We kept those our secret. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1018594 United States 04/30/2011 07:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I usually give 2 dollars plus whatever change is on the bill, or I round it up to the next 5-dollars, (like I would give 30 dollars for a $25 charge), but now I'm thinking I may have to make a point to raise my tipping for home-delivery. This is actually a pretty good question. I've been tipping the same amount for delivery for years and the price of gas has gone up. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1361846 United States 04/30/2011 07:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the tip should be based on how far away you live from the shop, not the total of the bill. if you order one pizza for 10 bucks dont tip a dollar if you live far away. i delivered za in 2008 when gas was absurd over $4. it was in the country. some deliveries were 25 effing miles round trip. i would lose money out of my own pocket delivering to lazy ass ppl. one dollar tip plus 2 for delivery charge in most cases did not cover gas spent plus use of my vehicle. btw if you are still ordering pizza nowadays instead of making your own youre dumb imo. |

User ID: 1018072 United States 04/30/2011 07:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If the driver is late and the pizza is cold, I only give a dollar. If he is timely and my food is at least warm, $3. If it is raining, and he is on time, I tip extra. If he shows up early with a hot pizza, I tip extra. It all depends on the service.
