We won't have regs here in the next 4 years at least unless the Feds do something. If we started getting earthquakes here like in Arkansas we'd be in deep shit. This place is on stilts from all the old coal mines. |

(OP) User ID: 1220977 United States 04/20/2011 02:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here's an updated story from a different source. [link to www.wnep.com] <snip> Bradford County's director of public safety said a Chesapeake well went out of control late Tuesday night. That means the well blew near the surface, spilling thousands and thousands of gallons of frack fluid over containment walls, through fields, personal property and farms, even where cattle continue to graze. DEP is taking ground water and stream samples to determine the extent of the spill. Officials said fluids from the well have, in fact, contaminated Towanda Creek which feeds into the Susquehanna River. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1350073 United States 04/20/2011 03:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | when in the hell are we gonna start regulating this shit? the congress allowed fracking to be done without ANY type of regulation and they don't even have to disclose the type and amount of toxins in their fracking fluid. this is just gonna multiply unless they crack down on this shit now. how much of these leaks of fracking fluids are polluting streams, rivers, and underground aquifers? how much is leaking frack fluid behind some of the unexplained fish kills like the one in Arkansas near Ozark in the Ar river? Hmmmmm Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1087327WTF.....are you some kind of Socialist commie dirt bag or what. This is America and we don't need no government interfering with making the monies.....are you not paying attention to all the calls for less government. Soon we can all glow together. |

I guess as long as they don't drink any water forever ... I hope it doesn't affect anybody seriously. Looks like it was a bit south of Sayre, so your family should not be affected. It's the people downstream who need to keep an eye on it. |

Not until our 'dearly beloved Congress' gets its collective nose off the solvent natural gas snuffing high and revamps both the EPA's Clean Act and Clean Water acts. I knew something was really fubar'd about our 'dear leaders' and their screwed up thought processes.. its like they are intoxicated.. now I really they have become totally brain dead from sniffing N.G. Fracking fumes. |

"Evidently the crack is in the top part of the well below the blowout preventer," he said, referring to a device used in emergency situations to choke off flow from a well. "They don't really know what happened yet because they don't have it controlled yet. live modestly and prepare for inclement weather. [link to www.highwaterfilters.com] |
