Did you know there was this guy who was bombed at Hiroshima and then he moved to Nagasaki to get away from it and was bombed again. He lived to be 93 or so and finally died of stomach cancer, but at 93, that's probably normal.

Plant your garden and stop worrying.

Perhaps now is the time to start learning about phytoremediation.

Do you think commercial grown produce is going to be any safer than yours! Even the canned and frozen stuff you buy next month will have been grown, so you might as well, at least you can better control the problem

I had the same question. I started my seeds in potting soil and they are in a sunny window- in the house for now. Guess we'll have to wait and see whether or not to plant them outside. Meanwhile I'm checking prices for a small greenhouse.

Start switching to a Permaculture garden. Perennial food plants withstand radiation better than annuals but of course put in a garden. Use a heavy mulch so that if fallout occurs you can remove the mulch (hay/straw etc.) and replace it with the mulch you have under cover.
Plant or Perish
