well then very good. lets exchange words then......how about cuneform textxs over 6000 years old , that not only explain the creation of our solar system in such detail that it leaves no unanswered questions......I>E why the earth has a cavity on one side, the existance of the comets with backwards orbital patterns, and the reason the asteroid belt is in its present location. How about these texts being 6000+ years old that depict astronomical data unheard of and uneeded for man during that time period. ( the measurements, orbits and EVEN color of other planets) How would ancient clay tablets 6000+ years old have this information?

being a bible scholar for the first 20 + years of my life left me with only unanswered questions....then after reading Sitchins work, I had my answers. They are the same story. All the holes filled, all the questions answered. I dont know what else to tell you. I verified through prayer and got the answers I was searching for.

I read LUKE 16:19-31 to be more than just a state of mind. But each sees what they will.

If this Luke story were a literal account of afterlife, the most obvious question is why is the Rich Man having a conversation instead of screaming uncontrollably? He's on fire. Secondly, why does he request a mere fingertip of water? And for his tongue? If his tongue is the first thing he wants extinguished, how is he even speaking? How does he even have a tongue? If he's dead, his body is in the ground.

What were his sins? Jesus never tells us, so it doesn't make for a very legitimate warning. He merely says the guy was well-dressed and well-fed, critera which actually apply to most American christians.

Our rich guy here is Judah, with five brothers. The whole chapter is about stewardship - the accountability of the preistood for what they did with what they were given. They failed severely, setting themselves up a nice little racket instead of blessing the people.

Meanwhile, some say that the Lazarus of the story is actually a reference to Abraham's steward Eliezar, who faithfully worked himself out of Abe's inheritance by obtaining a bride for Isaac. He chose obedience to his master over personal gain - a major contrast with the Pharisees.

But, if it were somehow the same Lazarus who Jesus raised from the dead, why had he been a beggar? His sister was apparently rich. . .she's the one who anointed Jesus with the ointment that cost something like a year's wages. Was she holding out on him?

This story is a *parable*. Matthew 13 and Mark 4 tell us that Jesus didn't teach without parables.

FYI:

#1 - hell is DESTRUCTION and not a place of eternal torment. The lake of fire is where those who are evil will be DESTROYED. You really think a God that is love would torture you for eternity because you didn't do his will?

#2 - The population of hell right now is 0. Hellfire won't rain down until at least 1000 years after the resurrection of the sons of God. Right now the dead are sleeping, hence "Rest" in peace. There are at least 89 places in the bible where it is says that the dead are sleeping.

He uses "fire" to purify us. The only thing that it burns up is the old, corrupt nature and its debris. . .

The process of "fire" leaves us in ashes. . .a scriptural symbol of humility.


Mankind is full of people who live after the dictates of their senses and instincts. . .for many, their "god" is their belly. To exist as a mere bodily self - eating, mating, and dominating others - makes us little more than an animal (the "beast"). The remedy is "execution", as illustrated in the burnt offerings of the old testament, which point toward our death sentence on the cross. The enthroned lower nature must be put to death by metaphorical fire.

God has invested too much in all this to just torch us and close the file.
There comes a day when undergoing the purification process is no longer optional and the time arrives to move forward and stop being primates.

Thank God for Hardtruth and all the other non-believers. This way we know who to pray for so the Lord Yeshua can work on their heart before they die. Practically all religions today are based in part on Sumarian mythology.
