Throw in Chick Corea- Return to Forever. Mahavishnu Orchestra. A little Sun Ra. Some George Clinton. The Crusaders. Ornette Coleman. Frank Zappa. Gimme that jazz! Yes. At the time I didn't listen to it because it was completely off the radar on the radio and hitlists. I have discovered the music a couple of decades later. The whole era from late 60's to mid 70's was full of jazz musicians who picked up rythms from funk and soul and combined it with their skills and improvisation. |
