What you are really saying is that nothing is really happening and this is just like train spotting for those who are interested. Since we have had many X-flares before and general puplic did not notice then it clearly explains that puplic will not be effected and this is just a little excitment as far as the scientific community is concerned. I can now clearly understand but i do have another question. Why would you guys want to hype this thing as if it was doom? Would you not make a fool of yourselves in doing so? Are your actions perhaps is to attract more attention to this subject and hence the doom threads? but x flares are almost never directed at earth....and so they happen but not TO us...technically. We had flare/cme events that blackout sections of the country and toasted satellites out of orbit in the past. Now we have a weaker terrestrial magnetic field, so we are more prone to probs and all on top of a weak global economy. Plus NASA has been warning about a solar kill shot that could toast us and kill billions. As of me, I watch space weather as a hobby, since I've been involved in HAM radio and DXing back in the 80s.
