Blossoms and mosquitoes in winter

The season will blend together isnt that some prophecy by someone somewhere?

Something about, you will only know the seasons by the turning of the leaf?

west coast, our plum tree usually doesn't blossom for another 45-60 days..just odd :p

the mosquitoes are already out in full force like this is the dead of summer. Something is really wrong here.

i saw a mosquito in maine a week or two ago. flying around outside. now THATS wierd.

but I assure you everything is as normal as can be over here.

February and -25°C is exactly the way it ought to.

I firmly believe this prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes

But people may say "This happens all the time. After any hard freeze you will see all the greenery return early"

Well, my friend, I say to you

Never have we seen it from one corner of our nation to the next

never before!

not just our nation

all over the world

This is the first time i've seen this happen!

I mean, there's flowers in my yard. at the places where the snow stayed longest in the shadow of my trailor, now there is fresh green grass.

let us also consider

birds all over the world are migrating in the opposite direction

this happened before the ice storms!

before the bird die offs even started

birds have been flying north toward certain death

ive had birds ive never even SEEN BEFORE chilling in my yard this winter and they are still here. i feed them every day. about 20 of em, 3 or 4 different varieties

The combination of La Niña and high Pacific North American (PNA) oscillation levels together with low NAO/AO values has made the western US unusually mild this winter. Even so, it's normal for the West Coast to be rather mild...they don't call Washington the "Evergreen State" for nothing...

Great point about la nina however I've noted changes in the seasons for several years now. I am in California btw.

Yes we have had hard cold and snowy winter in denmark but when the snow melted there were blossoms underneath

I'm in Colorado and so I can't speak so much for Cali's weather, although I've spent some time there. I've noticed over the last several years there has been more of a tendency than not to have high pressure over the western part of the country with an opposite pattern in the east and over Europe. A lot of it seems to relate to the AO (Arctic Oscillation) and the NAO (North Atlantic Oscillation). When those were highly positive, it was an almost opposite pattern here in 2006-07 than this past winter. That was also an El Niño winter.

A BIG mosquito came into my house 3 weeks ago in the DEAD of winter.

I have roses blooming outside and we just had 4 days of hard freeze. I also have bees flying around like crazy.
