Anyone on Firefox?
As usual, I'm using Firefox for GLP. But it's suddenly started asking me on the start-up page if I want to search the web or "pages from Canada". WTF? I'm not in Canada.
Anybody have a clue about what's going on? Thanks.

Re: Anyone on Firefox?
I've used FireFox for GLP for a long time and never got that message - perhaps a virus check/spyware check is in order?

I had a bad experience with a version of firefox that I downloaded from the Internet. When I was doing searches on google, it would be directed to other advertisement sites or unknown social networks.

I learned I have to be careful from where I download the firefox. There are many scammed versions not by the firefox company but by he scammers. I removed that version and installed a new one from the original website. Sofar it's fine. You have to be careful what you download onto your computer.

This is not a new download. This is the original Firefox that I've been using for a long time with no trouble. Thanks anyway.

Try downloading the latest version direct from Mozilla.

I am running 4.0b 11, no problems.

Delete your private browsing Data, especially the cache.

Tools --> Delete Chronic ---> Menu pops up, check that "Cache" is marked, uncheck what you still need...

Re: Anyone on Firefox?
Hi OP, Firefox here too.
Have you got the Ghostery & AdBlock Plus addons? Get them if you haven't, they're great for screening all the extra crap on GLP.
Also, did you say you have a random page opening by itself (or something similar?) I recently got infected with a nasty virus & not sure where I picked it up from exactly, but one of the last things I did was get the ban screen from GLP & submitted some text & my email.
Either way, I highly recommend you get over to Kaspersky & grab a copy of tdsskiller (free) & do a scan, cos it sounds like it might be a tdss rootkit.

Re: Anyone on Firefox?
love the newest beta. Nice and snappy, yet I can still set it the way I want it.
