Anonymous Coward User ID: 1261482 United States 02/13/2011 11:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No? Quoting: domesticangelMe either. I found out when I went online and checked my DTV account and found the charges. I've been having a problem with my youngest who's autistic. I've had to cut off the remote control and finally had to cut off phone ordering also. The last time I spoke with DTV, they assured me that my child would not be able to order by phone unless he KNEW THE ACCOUNT NUMBER. Apparently that is NOT TRUE. All anyone has to do is call in to DTV and they can order anything they want. They were riding my ass about a password on the account, so I did that when I spoke to them. But not 1 of them (not even the supervisors) bothered to say that the password would NOT prevent my child from ordering using the automated system. So ANY minor child, anywhere, that has satellite TV can order ADULT programming just by calling DTV! If your kid has friends come over and they want to watch porn, all they have to do is pick up the phone and call it in. lol, tons of free porn on the interwebz no block can get them all, kids are creative |

He's autistic, he was just buying whatever was there, he wasn't watching it. But in answer to your comments, YES kids are creative, but they don't have to be. All they have to do is pick up the phone. Free your mind and the rest will follow. Quoting: Hannibal The CannibalBlock the phone, some of them allow you to put a pin on the phone to dial out. Password the computer. Password the cable TV box. Simple. NOT as simple as that. I DID put a passcode on the satellite box, I set a 0 spending limit, and blocked out adult channels YET he was still able to buy more PPV along with another ADULT program. DTV has yet to offer any answers as to why he was able to do that. And I checked with Verizon about putting a code on the phone, they do NOT have that feature. Of course its that simple, you are blaming a third party for what your son is given access too. Your house, your electronics, your rules. Stop pointing the finger. Move the phone out of reach, lock it away. Most of the newish cordless phone handsets have password features on them, buy a new phone. What an idiot! If it were that damn simple, then it wouldn't be a problem huh? There is no "out of reach", he knows how to use a chair or stool. If I lock shit up, then I have to wear a key around my neck and unlock it everytime the phone rings. How bout YOU buy me a new phone with all those fancy features? I can't afford one. And the issue IS the fact that DTV and perhaps DISH too have nothing on their automated system to prevent minors from buying adult programming. Stick to the subject of the thread moron or move along!
