I doubt its more powerful than the PS3, but it should be able to produce some pretty high quality games and applications similar to the PS3 since its only on a small screen. The PS3 needs more power to display higher resolutions on bigger screens.

The PS3 is one core with with 7 of this thing that I forgot the name of. Bottom line, it's one core, the same way a GPU is one core but have hundreds of another thing that I forgot the name of. That's why I disliked Sony, always trying to mislead.

while not quite that good as 5 bucks, i was walking with my son one night a year or so ago about a block from hollywood video and this chick comes walking down the street and asks if i want to buy a psp and i say how much? 25 dollars!
long story short she had bought it a few days before with all the accessories and grand turismo and the extended warranty so she had about 225.00 bucks wrapped up in it, and she BROKE UP WITH HER BOYFRIEND!!
bing pow...i couldn't get my wallet out fast enough, and the warranty is transferable too!

oh forgot to add, that she was trying to get a refund from hollywood video and they would only give her store credit or some shit, and she wanted cash....any cash, i think she just wanted to get high at that point cause she was bum kicked

Sony has said that's as half as powerful than a PS3. Come on people, the PS3 came out in 2006, 5 years is not enough for a handheld to catch up. Computers mainly get better because they become smaller, not because they invented something, which is how I feel some people here see things. There's a path that it takes.

Sony STOLE the technology ideas from Nintendo

DS has touch screen
Wii has a movement sensing wireless controller

Microsoft made a more advanced improved version of the Wii via using sensor technology but giving an advance to it in that the sensor works via visually recognizing figures instead of using communication with a remote.

nope it wasn't hot, she had the receipt and everything, i even went to the store the next day to inquire about the warranty and talked to the actual dude who sold it to her,
he was also there the night the girl and i met on the sidewalk, and told me that she had tried to return it but would only get store credit,
i'll have to look at the receipt again , i kept it for the warranty she might have had it for more than a few days, but it was no more than a month,
so it definitely was not stolen

Now why in the hell, would she still have the receipt for a 200 dollar psp and sell it to you for 25 dollars? And she told you she was only doing this cause she was mad at her bf? Not a very smart girl. OR is it simply the fact that revenge in the female brain completely depletes them of any and all logic. lmao I once had a girl fly across the country and stay with me a week just because she was mad at her boyfriend. But hey I once sold two DS's for fifty a piece and this was within the year they came out. You still got a great deal. Carry on man!

I feel I have to say, these console game companies LOVE the hype. Nintendo, Sega, Sony, MS, Atari etc etc keep using the same old tactics and decade after decade and so many still fall for it.

What happens is every company will release their machines, then after about 2 years , when they know full well they are 2-3 years away from releasing something better they begin the HYPE.

WHY you ask? Because little billy's ps3 is getting a bit dated, what a terrible thing if he got over the whole playstation shit, so they start dropping hints well in advance about the new system they have (on paper) cos this thing is just s pipe dream and all those bullshit SPECS of gigs and GHz they quote will be completely revised by the time the thing hits the shelf.

This just in Video games consoles will be more powerful in the future,, WHO WOULD HAVE FRICKING GUESSED!!!!

No they don't, the cycle is roughly 5 years, and they do NOT want to build hype more than 6-12months before release because that hurts sales of their current system + handheld

Not really, they try to keep it a secret for as long as possible. In fact there was some trouble with Nintendo sometime last year, because someone leaked that they were going to introduce a new DS (3DS) and they had to do damage control, because it was going to affect the sale of the DSi. I don't think you really follow the video game industry. I mean people speculate what the new systems might be like in the future, but the companies try to keep it a secret as long as possible, since it would affect the sale of their current systems. It's common sense.

Yes and no. They don't want to hurt the sales of their current product is correct, but, They must assure their userbase a more powerful system with "made up" spec's is on its way , otherwise they risk their customers jumping to another platform from any other manufacturer that may have taken a lead in the Power/gfx area for any short time.

I call the specs made up because they will surely be revised before the final production, it pays to have people thinking this thing will be a NASA computer for the time being.
