Every December/January and June/July they come out with the hysterics and condemnations towards anyone who wants to teach them the slightest bit of science. So why when the take the time to note sunrise, sunset times for every single location...pin point such things actually, why then would they NOT chart the moon cresent as you would actually expect to see it? You would think that some records or even examples of it would be easier to find than sorting through records at GLP. Yes, these can and are predicted by the displays in computer programs. And in fact people have found and posted examples. [link to picasaweb.google.com] this is the predicted appearance of the Moon in the circumstances of the OP's video. You're right that it would be easier...it's an extremely easy way to settle the question. Problem is, a lot of people ignore it, hence all the claims of something wrong. just becuase a current reading of the tilt of the earth in relation to the moon is plainly showing how the moon currently looks, doesn't account for the fact that it SHOULDN'T look that way!!!! Period. I am with the OP on this one - it's friggin ODD It's not a current reading, it's a prediction. No different than predicting the appearance 100 years into the future. Why shouldn't the movements of the Moon match the predictions? |

The Moon and everything else in the sky appears to rotate every time they are up. They have to because your perspective of them changes as you are on a round, rotating Earth. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1149306Never seen the shadow move horizontal In my life.. I remember the moon phases all the way back to the 50's.. Sump'ins not right.. Thank you. Anyone else ever see the moon do this in the distance past? Cause I haven't ever seen it either. I am sixty years old and no it has never been like it is now. I have also seen the moon seem to speed up but I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. This has been going on a couple of years, sometimes you will see it in the right Phase, most of the time it is like top down, it is weird looking. |

This has been going on a couple of years, sometimes you will see it in the right Phase, most of the time it is like top down, it is weird looking. So why is it that you, and perhaps a hundred or so people on web boards notice this, but not the millions of other people on this planet who pay attention to the Moon? Its even part of Muslim religious practice to monitor the Moon. Google "Hilal Moon" and see. On top of all that you have tens of thousands of amateur astronomers all over the planet who image the Moon every night but never notice anything amiss. So, your eyes might just really be playing tricks on you. Oh, no no, Dr. There is a more rational explanation than you provide, and I will evoke occams razor to prove it. First the Government went to all Muslims Worlwide; yes all Billions of them or so, and told them if they and their families wanted to see the light of day again, they will remain silent about the topic at hand. They as well threatened to nuke Mecca, and all of their homelands. Second, NASA, and the Government tracked down all Amateur Astronomers; including myself, and threatened us with FEMA camps if we were to even mention a word to anyone. The Conspiracy is VAST I tell you, VAST!!!! Oh shit, , I have already said enough on this thread, gotta go, but that is the story, yep yep.... On a more serious note, I think a new picture insert is in order in honor of this topic.. I can either give you the Yin, or the Yang, your choice. |

The Moon appears to rotate throughout the time it is up and it will appear at a different angle based on your location on the planet. What angle should they put the crescent at then? |

This angel said no, not that one. Then, I saw a meteor hit the earth and the angel said, it will strike in the ocean near Yukatuk, Alaska. It will cause a tidal wave all up and down the west coast. It will trigger the volcano in Yellowstone. Then I saw the volcano with dark, gray, billowing smoke rising up out of it. Menno asks me if I was sure it was Yellowstone. I asked him if he ever saw Yellowstone's volcano. He said yes. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 4467836 Canada 11/23/2011 08:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I love all these people trying to say how the moon should be and why. All it takes is to walk outside and look up. The dark and light parts used to be divided up the middle, and now they are practically on their sides (dark on top, light on bottom). They are different than they used to be. That's all. I don't really care if it means we are going to all die. |
