~ FYI, If you are looking to buy a face or body moisturizer, you want to avoid MINERAL OIL, which actually LEECHES the essentail fatty acids out of your skin. Yeah, it will lubricate, giving a slippery feel, but it does not truly give moisture to the skin but rather robs it. Of course, because it is relatively inexpensive, this encourages the manufacturers of said products to add mineral oil as a main ingredient, even if itīs not really good for your skin. Being a health and beauty conscious consumer, when I learned of this fact I began avoiding buying products that contained the offending ingredient. ~ Until last week when I was unscrupulously tricked into buying it. When shopping in the "Healthy products" aisle of my local Supermarket, there it was "Dr.Woods Shea Vision Shea Butter lotion" Hey, attractively packaged, I know that Shea butter comes from the Shea nut and is good for you so, I read the label, no MINERAL OIL listed, great....so I bought it. >>> Only to find out in my Ingredients Dictionary that MINERAL OIL was the MAIN ingredient of this shit...Sneakily hidden under the name "Paraffinum Liquidum" and it was the SECOND INGREDIENT {water being the first} .....ARRRGH! WHY ARE THEY SO SNEAKY...???? NOW I know, avoid all products labeled with "Paraffinum Liquidum" as well...!! And what the hell is with using names in LATIN...?? Talk about obscure. ...Bunch of sneaks !

Yes and chewing gum is made out of some kind of synthetic polymer. Disgusting! I thought it came from a tree or something.

And Candy Bars have Engine lubricant in them!!! Last year I had a hankering for a "Mounds" bar {which I had not had in many years actually} as I was eating it, I noticed a strange ingredient with a number next to it, like something that would be listed on a table of elements or something! So I called the 800 number to ask them about this new ingredient which had never been in the old Mounds bar.... The C.S. rep gave me some spiel blah blah blah Mounds candy bar is so great blah blah blah , but didnīt really answer my question> ...I later inquired of a knowledgeable friend who told me that it is a synthetic igredient that is used to lubricate engines..... !!! Tasty huh?! Maybe if youīre Robocop, but not Flesh and Blood Human !!! yak

as for beauty ingredients, try (I know it isnīt that glamorous) to use oils when you can.

Apricot oil is quite cheap and sinks right in, mix it with a little caster oil to make it thicker if you want something for night time. Mix the two together, add some drops of essential oils, and put in a old glass deodorant roll on bottle.

Of course you can add Vit. E to this if you want, or any other oil.

(Nivea do a good bottle)

That way you arenīt getting any parafins, artificial anything, no preservatives.

3143~ Thanks for that...Yes I know that certain oils do absorb very well, especailly when mixed with herbs. I am working on creating my own formula to market. In the meantime, "Dr.Burtīs Res-Q Ointment" {made by Burtīs Beeīs} is the best thing that Iīve found for great eye-area maintenance ! It first goes on as a green colored ointment but because of the ingredients being highly bio-compatible, the green color quickly disappears as the cream is absorbed by the skin. One of the ingredients is COMFREY LEAF herb, which is truly a gift from Nature for skin care {both internally ingested as a tea, and externally as moisturizer} Try some for your selves and see! And to hell with lacking in integrity bogus commercial moisturizers! flowerluvflower
