Ball Lightening | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 811871 Canada 01/06/2011 02:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have personally witnessed "ball lightening" which entered a squat at which I was living at the time via the chimney. It then hovered in the middle of the room for a good 20-30 seconds, with several witnesses all looking at each other and at the thing, going "WTF?" and such forth, until it exploded/vanished/popped out of existence. Quoting: Chapman_BaxterIt made no sound upon entry, but there was a faint electrical buzzing sound whilst it hovered. I still can't explain it, but I will never forget it. I wonder what wild and interesting explanations you can all come up with? ground movement, underground perhaps. natural, albeit rare. I've seen it DURING a very large quake, and PREDICETED it to occur again, which it did, of course there was another quake, so it was easy to predict that it may occur again, and it did. no mystery, no history you'll be readin' about, cause just THINK of all the baggage you could hang on that natural phenom. think of it. was very beautiful, serene, and magical, in a DIVINE way of course . . . . .. I wouldn't suggest staring too long, cause you'd be in danger in a guake that large. Was in the country, and the ground opened up, springs came forth, and the house I was standing in was destroyed, by the Grace of God, the chimney fell the other way, I barely got out, after dancin' with the chesterfield, had to vault it, and the doors were blocked with debris, but my friend was already outside to help me, not having seen the lights out across the valley from the windowed side of the building, or she would have stood in stark silience, as I had done. And that would've been that. We were stuck out in a big RV on the property when the next shaker happened, and I reminded them of the phenomena, and we, all three, saw them again, really. truth every ounce. no worries |

No one has shown how naturally occuring plasma balls can maintain themselves for so long. Nikola Tesla created some through his experiments, but science hasn't really explored the electrical side of things. We live on a dynamically electric planet, upper atmospheric lightning and ball lightning aren't given enough attention by science.. we need to think Tesla style! Lister! Cool. TY for vid. Anonymous Coward User ID: 811871 Canada 01/06/2011 02:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Suddenly lightening can do anything! no matter how crazy!!! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1118155That was an orb, sonny, orbs have energy and do cause a buzzing in your brain [link to www.angelsghosts.com] that wasn't even a good try. Think Magnetics! It took me decades, after the shock, of almost getting hit TWICE, in a couple minutes, sitting under a shelter at college late one afternoon. It was on the sea, and a storm was weirdly heading east to west. A huge thunderclap drove an enormous bolt of lightning down on top of a high school rooftop across the parking lot across the street. After just composing myself, was quite the thrill, I heard a 'crickity' noise, and saw something in the dirt, RIGHT in front of me near the base of a flagpole set in concrete. Before I could complete a thought, WHAM !! It hit the flagpole, not 10 feet in front of me. eYeah, I checked my pants, but it does not end there. OK, I'm alive, got all my hair, far as I can tell, and what am I wearin' I can take off that's metal . .. just as I'm thinkin' as soon as this blows over, I am SO outta here .. . IT HAPPENED AGAIN!%^&* Not the flagpole this time, but just across and above my head on the wall near the entrance, it hit the weld between a pair of sirens mounted up on the wall .. . well phuck that sjit, I was so outte there, I shocked myself, I hit those doors and burst into the main corridor, I cannot even imagine what I looked like, by the way the sirens are all going off outside, I find a class door open, and as I stand there I realize that this was the theology class, and of course they're talking about Christ, God, and the end of the World, and here I stand like I've just seen what they've been inside wondering about, I think now it was their fault I had to experience the wonder of their minds. that's just my opinion, and all happened exactly as that. cheers I've offered my experiences here before, hopefully they'll be recognized too. sharing is a personal thing, sometimes you do n' sometimes you don't . Happy New Year, my your times always be eventful. |

Both my daughters, my son and myself saw it. It was surreal. My youngest girl was at the opposite end of the hall and the rest of us were in the bedrooms. How blessed we were to have seen it and come out unharmed. Quoting: Chapman_BaxterThat is bizarre, and it certainly gives the impression of intelligence based upon how these things travel around. Not that I believe that there is some kind of intelligence behind them. But it is a weird experience, and something one doesn't easily forget (unless you choose to ignore it of course). know of a group of friends who eperienced th esame in a home... on halloween.... same way chapman is detailing........also strange is out of that group one of my friends got killed about 6 months after ...hmm... that kinda made me wondering about alot of things out there EVEN more |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 919411 United States 01/06/2011 02:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've had one experience with ball lightening in Phoenix. I was in my teens and I was sitting on the couch in our living room with the rest of my family seated about the room. There was a crack of thunder and a ball of orange fire about 8-10 inches in diameter entered high in the corner of the room opposite me about ten feet away. In a fraction of an instant, the firey ball jumped from the corner to a metal cover on the ceiling from which a hanging lamp was suspended, blowing out the electrical outlet in the process. in another fraction of an instant, the firey ball traveled from the metal cover on the ceiling down the brass chain of the lamp and then continued on its trajectory in mid air crossiing the rest of the living room, crossing a corner of the family room, passing through a wall and finally into the back of the oven in the kitchen, discharging all of its energy in one loud BOOM! The ball lightening had grounded itself in the kitchen oven and with the discharge of its considerable energy promptly caused the wood surrounding the built-in oven to burst into flames. In seconds, the whole wooden frame surrounding the oven was burnt and blackened to char showing the most damage where the flames had been the hottest. Although all of the above happened in a very short time, to this day I easily remember how horrified, frightened, and fascinated I was (all at the same time) when I first laid eyes on the ball of lightening entering the house and crossing the room near to the ceiling. The whole time the event was in progress, I also remember fearing for my life. To this day, I have no idea why the ball ightening chose to ground itself relatively harmlessly in the kitchen oven rather than in one of us (and I was the closest to it)! I believe it was indeed fortunate that we were all seated and several feet away from the hanging lamp over the dining table at the time. Firemen were called out just to be sure and they told us that they could tell how the incident had occurred. They said lightening struck a telephone pole behind the house along the alley, the energy was discharged in the form of ball lightening, and that had passed down a telephone wire that was connected from the pole to a corner of the house. It was one of the few truly surreal experiences I have ever had. |

The study also showed that the rapidly changing magnetic field of a close lightning flash has a strength which is large enough to excite the neurons in the brain strengthening the possibility of lightning-induced seizure in the occipital lobe of a person located close to a lightning strike establishing the connection between epileptic hallucination mimicking ball lightning and thunderstorms. More recent research with Transcranial magnetic stimulation has been shown to give the same hallucination results in the laboratory (termed magnetophospenes), and these conditions have been shown to occur in nature near lightning strikes.[59][60] |

I have experience of shared hallucinations, but these things generally don't occur under the influence of cannabis. If the viewers were under the influence of epilepsy, DMT, Psilocybin, or LSD then maybe, but this was not the case during my own experience. To these we shall add rotation of air and dust inside the ball lightning. Publications do not include the property of gravitational field distortion, i.e., levitation. For objects as small as ball lightning, however, with a typical ball lightning diameter of 20-35 cm, it is difficult to observe such a property, especially as extremely varied movements of small objects under the effects of aerodynamic, magnetic and electrical forces are associated with ball lightning."
