The police think it's thier right to search people. Have you been searched ?

It is not thier right! Don't let them do it anymore! That is one civil right me must not give up!

Hell, I had better than that, they locked my ass up!

I decided this last summer to take the Alaskan/Canadian Hwy to Alaska for the first time from my home in Alabama. I went all the way to Fairbanks, AK. I was a lovely trip. Well, at the U.S. border on my way back into the U.S. from Canada, I pulled up to the customs window and handed the idiot my passport and I heard an alarm go off. I was told to shut the vehicle off and get out of the truck. Agents came from all sides and put me up against the truck. Frisked me and told me to put my hands behind my back and cuffed! I had never been handcuffed in my whole life!

Now, I am 60 years old, never had anything more than a speeding ticket my whole life. I was told by the 6 foot tall thug that this was just for their protection! Six thugs, all six feet tall or taller and I am 5'6" and overweight!

I was taken to a holding cell and questioned. I asked what I was being accused of and was told they would tell me later after they did a background check. I thought a passport meant that this had already been done???

Anyway, after an hour I was told that there had been a "mistaken identity" and I was free to go...

I was asked what was wrong with my passport to cause this "mistake". No reply. I asked what the person had done. No answer. I said my passport already has my picture, so why did you have to handcuff me??? No answer.

I honestly believe it is because of my web site profile because of places like GLP. But I'll be damned if I will back down any further. We all know that GLP is monitored, fine. Here I am. I have never broken a single law in my whole life. If I can be treated this way anyone can...

I live in a crapy part of Whittier,Ca. I was searched 5 different times walking to or from my house. I was sick of it. The cop would always start out with "are you on probation or parole"? so he could start the groping without asking permit ion if I had been. I have never been on either. As soon as I told him that the next question is always "Can I pat you down"? Well that day I was ready for them. As he asked at the same time his hand was going into my pocket I said "no you can not search me". He quickly pulled his hand out of my pocket. I went on to say "I am sick of being treated like a criminal every time I leave my house". "I have not broken the law, I am not on probation or parole and I do still have a few civil rights left after the Bush administration got finished wiping their ass with our Constitution for the past eight years, so no you can not search me". To my shock he said "okay please come over hear". He had me sit in the back of the car with the door open and my feet still outside. He ran my name and when it came back clean he made some dumb excuse for stopping me and said "have a good day Mr. Rooney. The most polite an officer ever treated me. Stand you for your rights people!!! If you don't the Gov. is not gonna' do it for you!

Same harassment I had in La Puente and El Monte, I was walking to my home and the Police even told me to get on the ground then asked if i was on probation or parole,"no" then asked what a white guy like me was doing in a neighborhood like this. I told him i live here, the the search for my wallet and found my ID, they saw that i was literally in front of my apps. then told me to go home. I asked what was wrong?. no answer,. asked if the pulled guns was necessary. response was "we can never be too safe" ha! like i felt really safe.

You know, As a Viet Nam era vet, I never would have imagined myself saying this, but I think you're right. Once a line has been crossed, you can't put it back the way it used to be. These police/agents/thugs have gotten the taste of power and they love it! And won't ever go back to being a "peace officer". Ever...

I've never been body search by any police officer in my life. I've had been question by them, but never search.
