Step up to dispute this, after you fattened yourself at thanksgiving while others starved, and traded gifts with many that don't truly deserve anything while many froze and starved again. Step up and dispute that Religions and the Bible are of GOD's words and NOT man, and that YOU as a christian have done your part for resolution, or even your church, maybe your total religious base as well. Say that I am spreading falsehoods about your faith in dead men, while showing no signs of GODly deeds from your own backed faith. Step up,.... and cleanse yourselves from the lies you have been telling and living for so long. Become the GODly persons you know you should be, no book is needed for that knowing process. User ID: 1183324 United States 12/26/2010 12:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Did "New Age Messiah" or DNA put you up to this? Believe what you want and I'll believe what I want. Everyone has "FAITH" in something! For some it is their favorite ball team, for others, it's themselves. I happen to believe we will be held to account for our words and deeds one day and only those who believe in Jesus Christ will be given access to the Father in Heaven. The Bible is the only book that gives us those specific instructions and since that seems like a pretty big deal (if true and all...you know, eternal destination of your soul to either heaven or hell...that's not an insignificant detail if it happens to be true) then I am not willing to risk my soul if the "book of man" turns out to be the ACTUAL "Word of God". All "debate" aside, I happen to KNOW it is God's inspired Word, not because some man told me so but because I have tested it and the reading of it on several occassions has SPECIFICALLY answered questions I had prayed about that only God knew I was seeking answers to. Books merely written by men don't show me direct answers to prayers that only God knows about. Answer me THAT one! I won't argue that there are certain tampered with versions being sold today that calls ALL Bibles into question but I believe there is a "Word" settled in heaven and agreed to here on earth that God has annointed and He uses to speak to us today. The other "tainted" versions are there to incite confusion. You have to know what to be weary of and only God's Holy Spirit that He imparts to believers in Jesus Christ can discern His True Word from the "false"! (Not trying to "toot any horns" here, just stating a fact). It really all goes down to this...if you're right, then its all good and none of us will probably know the difference as we will either just cease to exist into nothingness or we will be reincarnated, in which case our memories of past lives will be erased and we're none the wiser. But...and you know where I am going with this...if the Bible IS true, YOU'RE in "deep weeds" as they say here in the country! Unless you figure that out before your time to give an account is here! Infernal, you are believing what someone else has told you and tried to argue and yet you come here accusing Christians of the same thing. If everyone would just stop arguing and test God for yourself, you would find that He IS in fact REAL and His Word IS inspired and directly from Him. I will tell you like I have told many fellow Christians...STOP listening to others and determine for yourself what is true! In the end, YOU will be your only defense outside of Jesus Christ! |

From my experience with them, it doesn't seem like they are really strong on logic. If questioned about their book of myths, they offer up the mere existence of the fairy tale as evidence for the veracity of the fairy tale. If you point out this logic fail, they go off the deep end about "faith", and the conversation devolves rapidly from there. I would sooner argue with the Brothers Grimm. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1195999 United States 12/26/2010 01:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, everyone has a purpose- so I have no doubt you feel compelled to say the Bible was not divinely inspired by God, but for what reason are you putting your beliefs into words and calling out Christians? Do you think you will convert anyone? (cause that is laughable) Maybe you want random Christians to get all angry in hopes of catching a hypocrite with hate in their heart, condemning you to spend eternity in hell? (equally laughable) It was foretold in that same book you reject, that people would feel more and more compeled to reject God as His Kingdom draws near- (kinda like separating the wheat from the weeds) Your words can never take away the truth of the Bible that we know in our hearts and when you have the Holy Spirit as a teacher, you acquire wisdom that accompanies knowledge and they go together well. That being said, you are free to feel whatever you want and just like Christians who are still trying to convert people like you by ramming their beliefs though seemingly endless obnoxious posts, are just a huge waste of time and i just have to laugh as the same old arguments are regurgitated day after day. Best wishes. |

I am no one, yet gifted by GOD in many areas, yet truly not worthy of any. This continual spouting quote GOD's words unquote from a Book of Man, is in itself blasphemy. The ones that usual are quoting from that book, also are the guilty parties last week, last month, last year,.... yesterday. Close the doors to your hearts and souls, and by all means do so in the name of the Bible, not the name of GOD. GOD, yours, mine, theirs, isn't worthy himself of worship if the deeds continue not being done. Don't keep confusing the Bible with GOD. Possibly then you can begin the proper paths for a11,.... GO STUDY- before you espouse your bloviated, arrogant, ignorant, pompous bullshit... Josephus (c.37 – 100 ), also known as Yosef Ben Matityahu (Joseph son of Matthias) and Titus Flavius Josephus, was a renowned 1st-century Jewish historian.[2] Despite being a Roman apologist, his writings are considered authoritative and provide an important historical and cultural background for the era described in the New Testament. Josephus was a contemporary of the birth of early Christianity. Books 18 to 20 of the Antiquities are the most important in this regard.[3] [4] Josephus writes of a Jewish sect, whose leader was James the Just, the brother of Jesus.[5] Josephus' history includes sections on John the Baptist, the High Priest Annas, Pontius Pilate, and Jesus called the Messiah. There is broad scholarly consensus that the two passages referring respectively to John the Baptist, and to James the brother of Jesus are genuine. A third passage, the famous Testimonium Flavianum found in the Antiquities of the Jews 18.63-64, in its current form summarises the ministry and death of Jesus; but the authenticity of this passage remains contested by many scholars, and has been the topic of ongoing debate since the 17th century. The most widely held current scholarly opinion is that the Testimonium Flavianum is partially authentic; but that those words and phrases that correspond with standard Christian formulae are additions from a Christian copyist.[6][7][8][9] In those parts of the Testimonium that are commonly regarded as authentic, Josephus describes Jesus as a teacher and miracle worker, attracting a large following who revered him after his death; but, other than James, Josephus names none of the founders of the Church such as St. Paul, St.Peter or any the Twelve Apostles, nor does he refer to basic Christian doctrines, such as the Virgin Birth, the Incarnation or the Atonement, which has led some to suggest that Josephus may have been an Ebionite Christian.[10] |
