CNN News: Mexican Drone crashed in El Paso Texas
It was following a "target" when it had a malfunction and crashed in Texas. NORAD said it was aware the Drone had entered US airspace but determined there was no thread and did not get involved. Apparently it was used in coordination with the US government.
Just saw the story on CNN...here the links for details. What's up with all these drones everywhere?

Re: CNN News: Mexican Drone crashed in El Paso Texas
"Mexican Attorney General spokeswoman Rocio Torres denied her country's involvement with the drone Friday, but later in the day, another Mexican official said the drone was being operated by the Ministry of Public Security and was following a target at the time of the mechanical malfunction.

The Mexican official did not know the nature of the surveillance but said "we know they were following a target." He did not know how the malfunction affected that operation, if at all."

They gave them the broken toy back...lol

"The crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle from Mexico would be a first on U.S. soil, Cordero said.

He said U.S. Homeland Security has turned the drone over to the Mexican Federal Secretariat of Public Safety in Juarez."

I heard we gave the drone back...only in America would someone give back equipment like this.

Washington does not realize we have a war on our own border.

If it were our equipment in another country, they would have a parade with the equipment.

I wonder what was the "target" they were following and why did it crash? And NORAD is all calm about a mexican drone entering US airspace and then hand the drone back to the mexicans? Weird...

I just posted that same question, why did the US hand it back? They're acting quite nonchalant about this whole thing.

It is the first drone that crashed on US territory and they give it back just like this?

The military-industrial complex will sell to anyone with the cash:

A spokesperson for General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc., as the drone-building company is now known, would only confirm sales of its UAVs to countries like Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Italy. The firm also has "classified sales that we do not discuss." [link to www.wired.com]

I agree. We likely sold it to them, do not need it back ! We are what, a hundred and change miles from the border, and we have FOUR drones that patrol in patterns nightly. What a freakin waste.
