Animals have more feelings than humans do. Who else but my little dog comes to greet me at the door when I have gone out for a few hours? Who else looks at me with those loving eyes when I hold her ( she is only six lbs.) and loves me no matter what. Not my husband for sure. |

My personal experiences prove to me that animals do appear to have feelings, they just don't whine and moan about it; Like most annoying humans. But I guess if it helps you sleep at night.... |

Quoting: EnaidBuy a bag of food and take it to a shelter. Or buy a box of kitty litter. Every little bit helps. Also most shelters can use any old, beat up sheets and towels. These animals can't help their situation. But YOU can. Please help the kittens and puppies. I just brought a bunch of stuff down to our local shelter for their fundraising yard sale. Yes I do care for people too . I really can't afford it but I am going to buy a local family who's four year old daughter has leukemia and they are in need a gift certificate to the local market. We seniors know how it is to have rough times so I think we are more giving than the younger generation. So be it. |

After a lifetime of observing animals I would agree with you. Animals are capable of all sorts of emotions and feelings, depending on the development of their brains, so some more than others. The only difference between some animals and humans is the ability to plan complex patterns in advance of action. Humans have a need to denigrate other animals to justify their use and mistreatment. |

HE WAS SO POLITE AND KIND. I WAS LOOKING AT THE ITEMS IN THE GLASS CASE THERE WAS TOYS AND SOME JEWELRY ITEMS. THE BOY ASKED TO LOOK AT THE MONOPOLY MONEY A WOMAN WHO WORKED THERE HANDED IT TO HIM. I SHOULD MENTION THIS WAS CHRISTMAS EVE ,I SAID TO THE BOY WHAT IS THE BEST TOY IN THE SHOWCASE. HE LOOKED WITH WONDER AT THE FEW SECOND HAND TOYS AND SPOKE LOUDLY WITH SUCH ENTHUSIASM ,THE JEEP HE SAID LOUDLY THE JEEP IS SOOOO COOL. I AGREED WITH HIM. THE JEEP WAS A REMOTE CONTROL TOY JEEP STILL IN A BOX UNOPENED. User ID: 1173053 United States 12/08/2010 02:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I haven't read the whole thread yet but..... One thing I always love to do for the holidays is 'gift donations', especially for those who really don't need anything, such as parents, etc. Most local shelters allow you to sponsor a pet and you can do it in another persons honor. One of my personal favorites is the World Wildlife Fund. They have a whole gift department where you make a certain level donation and the person you gift it to gets an adoption certificate and photo (and sometimes an awesome plushie......lol) I did it for my parents and my in-laws. They don't need a silly gift.... GREAT THREAD OP "Today young men on acid realized all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration... that we are all one conciousness experiencing ourselves subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. ...Here's Tom with the weather" :Opeth-1: |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 125715 United States 12/08/2010 02:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | animals don't have feelings like humans do Quoting: **Detective Scrotes**That's one of the most ignorant statements I've heard in a while. You are one of those people who chain a dog to a tree in the back yard and feed it once a day and never build a friendship with it. ummmm, it's a dog. you can always get another one seriously people, have you all lost your fucking minds???? If you think you are better or more important than a dog, you are not paying attention to your society. Um, 'it's just a human.' You can always get another one of those, too. After all, that is how our rulers think. There is no stewardship of the people in the way some of us idealize. There is only herd management. We are the herd - a quantum of projected productivity - a unit of capital - acceptable collateral damage - a statistical jot of herd wastage. That's all we are to them. Dogs and other animals remind us how to remain human in the best sense. They hold within their hearts and daily offer to us those qualities of love, care and acceptance that the rulers view as inconveniences to be quashed. So, seriously, dude, we are the one's who have no illusions, and who have found our minds and souls. 'Do unto the least of these....' some saying goes. Boyfriend: It's the dog or me! Girlfriend: Then it's the dog. Boyfriend: Why!? Now-exgirlfriend: The dog would never make that demand. |

All done with donations and volunteered help. My favorite place to donate. I hope everyone finds a good place to help out. |
